Motorcycle patrols on the beaches ensured safety for those who visited Outeiro on the last weekend of summer vacation

Those who visited the beaches of Outeiro to enjoy the last weekend of vacation found calm and safe beaches this Sunday, 03. Integrated security teams were present in the district ensuring a peaceful summer through the "Summer Operation 2025," coordinated by the Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense (Segup), which concludes its activities next Monday, 4.

"Throughout July until this first weekend of August, more than 5,000 agents were employed in security actions in over 50 locations in the state, such as Outeiro, which is one of the most sought-after places by residents of Belém at this time of year and had ostensive and preventive policing to ensure a safe summer for all," said the head of Segup, Ualame Machado.

At Praia do Amor, one of the most famous in the district, security forces acted in patrols and ostensive and preventive policing with a greater police presence on the streets and continuous patrols carried out by the Military Police, as explained by Sergeant Avis from the 26th Battalion on the island of Outeiro.

"This weekend we are observing a very calm movement here in the district and on the beaches, even the number of occurrences has decreased significantly compared to previous weekends. We have been active throughout this period with many inspections, operations, and addressing occurrences, all to ensure everyone's safety. We also had daily vehicle presence, increased policing on the beaches, and barrier operations in which we worked with the Municipal Guard, thus maintaining good productivity and avoiding major incidents," pointed out the sergeant.

Lifeguards - On the sandy stretch of both Praia Grande and the Beaches of Amor and Paraíso, more than 30 agents from the Military Fire Department acted in prevention actions, emergency and urgent care, and in identifying lost children.

"This last weekend was quite weak compared to the others. We believe it was largely due to the return to school, but we maintained the same prevention measures that were being implemented on other days and did not have any major occurrences. The operation as a whole went smoothly. Our main focus here is on prevention, so our lifeguards are distributed along the four beaches and work hard on preventive measures, not allowing people to stray too far and also monitoring children who are alone, directing them to their guardians," emphasized Lieutenant Colonel Marcos Veloso, commander of the operation on the beaches in the District of Outeiro.
