Setur holds RUMOS Seminar to discuss the future of sustainable tourism in the post-COP30 scenario
The event will bring together experts and leaders to discuss sustainable tourism and position Pará as a national and international reference in the area

The State Secretariat of Tourism of Pará (Setur) will promote, on August 4 and 5, the first edition of the RUMOS Seminar, themed "Post-COP30 Tourism." The initiative aims to establish itself as a permanent platform for articulation, training, and collective construction of public policies for the state tourism sector, with Belém preparing to host the 30th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP30) in November 2025. The meeting is expected to gather more than 300 participants.
The seminar aims to position Pará as a national and international reference in sustainable tourism. Representatives from the public sector, researchers, community leaders, entrepreneurs, investors, and specialists will discuss possible paths for regenerative, inclusive tourism aligned with climate, digital, and territorial agendas. Regenerative tourism is a concept based on the idea that tourism activities should leave a destination better than it was found, minimizing negative impacts of tourism and actively contributing to the regeneration of ecosystems, local economies, and cultures.
First Day Program
The event will start next Monday (4) with a symbolic reception that will highlight the regional identity of Pará. The institutional opening will feature the presence of public sector authorities and institutional partners, reinforcing the strategic role of the event for the sustainable development of tourism in the state.
The keynote lecture will be given by Jaqueline Gil from the University of Brasília (UnB) and former Marketing Director of Embratur, who will address the challenges and opportunities for tourism in Brazil and the Amazon in the post-COP30 context, emphasizing topics such as decarbonization, regeneration, and climate resilience. Following this, the roundtable "Pará at the forefront of sustainable tourism" will bring together names such as Ana de Sá (Espaço Aruna), Ana Karolina Jorge (Vivenciar Turismo), Fernanda Freitas (Pará Birding Tour), moderated by Allyson Neri. The panel will present tourism practices with a positive impact and strategies to consolidate the state as a reference in sustainable tourism.
Also on the first day, the lecture "Consumer Trends and the New Profile of Tourists," given by the Executive President of the Brazilian Association of Tour Operators (Braztoa), Marina Figueiredo, will address changes in traveler behaviors and show how Pará can create conscious and memorable tourism experiences.
The event will also feature the panel "Development of Tourism Experiences with Amazonian Identity," presenting selected initiatives for COP30, such as Kayré Experiências, Casa da Luna, and Ygara Artesanal, moderated by Márcia Bastos from Setur.
In the afternoon, architect and urban planner Caio Esteves will present the lecture "Future-Proof Tourism: how identity, hospitality, and foresight are reshaping the act of traveling." Isabella Barbosa, Superintendent of Promotion, Marketing, and Events of Setur-MA, will speak on "Best Practices in Public Tourism Management - Structuring the Route of Emotions." The day will conclude with a lecture by Rayane Ruas from Sprint Dados, who will provide insights on how data and tourism intelligence can inform public and private decisions.
Second Day
On Tuesday (5), the seminar will begin at 8 AM with the workshop "Development of Tourism Projects," led by Solange Reis, technical advisor of Setur. From 11 AM to 12 PM, the Structuring Manager of Setur and state interlocutor of the Tourism Regionalization Program, Hugo Almeida, will present the panel "Understanding and Meeting the Criteria of the Brazilian Tourism Map." He will guide municipalities on the criteria for inclusion and permanence on the Map, highlighting the importance of this instrument for access to federal public policies.
In the afternoon, between 2 PM and 5 PM, two workshops will occur simultaneously. Under the responsibility of the Amazon Public Governance School (EGPA), the panel "Resource Mobilization on the TransfereGov Platform" will address the functionalities and modalities of public transfer, such as agreements, transfer contracts, and parliamentary amendments. Meanwhile, the workshop "Management of Agreements with Caixa Econômica Federal," led by the Director of Tourism Policies of Setur, Raylime Costa, will focus on managing contracts for tourism infrastructure projects.
Closing
The RUMOS Seminar will conclude with the reading of the Pará Letter for Sustainable Tourism, a guiding document collectively constructed during the event, gathering guidelines, suggestions, and commitments for the future of public tourism policy in the state. The event will also be the stage for the official launch of the Visit Pará Seal, a tourism positioning initiative aimed at COP30.
