Parauapebas was the stage for the opening of the 6th stage of the Open Games of Pará, from the Government of Pará
Competitions continue until this Sunday (3), bringing together 232 athletes from municipalities in the southeastern state, in basketball, futsal, volleyball, and table tennis matches

The opening ceremony of the sixth stage of the XIV edition of the Open Games of Pará (Joapa), held on the night of this Friday (1st), in the municipality of Parauapebas, southeastern Pará, was marked by emotion and excitement from the attending athletes.

The "Islander Souza" Sports Gym was the stage for the presentations of the delegations from Canaã dos Carajás, Marabá, and Parauapebas. Organized by the Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat of Sports and Leisure (Seel), the event started at 7 PM and highlighted the importance of sports in integrating the communities of the Carajás region.

The sixth stage of Joapa, in southeastern Pará, extends until Sunday (03), bringing together 232 athletes from the representative municipalities. The competitions involve four modalities: basketball, futsal, volleyball, and table tennis.

The Secretary of Seel, Cássio Andrade, emphasized the holding of the games in the municipality of Parauapebas. “We are happy that this competition is being held here in southeastern Pará. Another integration effort by the Government of Pará, through sports. May everyone enjoy this moment and have fun,” said Secretary Cássio Andrade.

Joapa is considered the largest amateur sports competition in the state, encompassing 144 municipalities in Pará across 10 regional stages. Volleyball athlete Adnilza Batista is happy to participate in the competition. "We can only immensely thank the organization for the wonderful work they have done, and this is not the first time I participate, so I have already experienced various emotions and events of Joapa, and each time it comes innovating and making a difference in our lives as athletes,” said the young athlete.
The matches of the Open Games of Pará begin on the morning of this Saturday (2), with all modalities, focusing on the Efficiency Trophy, awarded to the municipality with the best performance in each regional phase.
