Pará registers best July in public safety since 2010
State achieves 18% reduction in Intentional Violent Lethal Crimes and preserves over 1,400 lives in the first seven months of 2025

The Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat for Public Security and Social Defense (Segup), achieved in July 2025 the lowest number of Intentional Violent Lethal Crimes (CVLI) for the month since 2010. From July 1 to 31, 132 cases were recorded, representing an 18.01% reduction compared to the same month in 2024, when there were 161 occurrences. Compared to July 2018, the decrease reaches 52.69%.
The data, released this Friday (01) by the Deputy Secretariat of Intelligence and Criminal Analysis (Siac/Segup), also reveals that July 2025 is the second best month in the entire historical series, only behind February of this year.
Cumulative results
In the accumulated data for the first seven months of 2025, Pará recorded 1,019 cases of CVLI, compared to 1,133 in the same period of 2024, representing a reduction of 10.06%. In relation to the same period in 2018, when there were 2,432 records, the decrease was 58.10%, equivalent to the preservation of 1,413 lives.

Integrated strategy and investments
According to the Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense, Ualame Machado, the positive results are the result of integrated work and significant investments by the State Government.
"Once again, the numbers show that Pará has advanced significantly compared to six years ago, when the state was among the most violent in the country. The integrated work among security forces, combined with intelligence actions, infrastructure, and training of agents, has allowed for a consistent and systematic decrease in crime rates," stated the head of Segup.

Visible action of the Military Police
The commander of the Military Police, Colonel Dilson Júnior, emphasized that the visible presence on the streets has been decisive for the results.
"We are celebrating a historic milestone. July was the best month in the historical series since 2010 in reducing CVLI. This is a direct result of the State Government's investments in infrastructure, new vehicles, modern weapons, and training of our police officers. This effective presence is essential for the prevention and repression of crime," he highlighted.
Investigation and operations of the Civil Police
The General Delegate of the Civil Police, Raimundo Benassuly, emphasized the impact of operations carried out in the last four months.

"We launched strategic operations with significant results: the Basilisco de Roko, in April, with 50 arrests; the Muralha Estadual, in May, with 223 arrests in a single day; the Reconecta, with recovery of cell phones; the Ponto Crítico, in June, with 100 arrests; and, in July, the Entrega Final, with 35 arrested. These actions reflect the investigative efficiency and integrated work in combating organized crime," he stated.
Technology and training
In the last six years, the Government of Pará has heavily invested in security technology and infrastructure: acquisition of weapons, ballistic vests, vehicles, armored boats, floating bases, totems, drones with thermal cameras, and video monitoring systems. Public competitions, training, and qualification of staff have also been carried out, strengthening the intelligence system and expanding the response capacity of security forces throughout the Pará territory.
