An integrated action between the Regional Intelligence Center of the Regional Policing Command I (CPR-I) of the Pará Military Police and the Federal Police resulted in the seizure of approximately one ton of drugs. The illicit cargo was being transported in a small aircraft, intercepted in the southwest of Pará on Thursday night (31).

This intelligence operation resulted in the seizure of approximately one ton of drugs, transported in a small aircraft. The action, which mobilized eight PM vehicles and air support, was made possible thanks to monitoring work focused on the route of international drug trafficking. According to investigations, the drugs were destined for international trafficking, and the aircraft landed on a clandestine runway near the village of Divinópolis. The already identified plane is a Seneca model. A second plane, possibly a Baron, is still being searched for by teams in the region.

According to preliminary information from the corporation, two men were involved in transporting the drugs, and the movement was detected from the analysis of the change in strategy of criminal factions. With the blocking of river routes in the Lower Amazon region, through actions like that of the Candiru Base, operating on the Amazon River, the groups began to use aircraft to fly over areas monitored by the Regional Policing Command I (CPR I).

Aerial Combat - "This is yet another major action that proves the importance of the Military Police in conjunction with the Federal Police in the direct confrontation of criminal organizations, especially in hard-to-reach areas, like the one we are operating in now. These factions use various modalities, such as river and air, for the transport of drugs, trying to circumvent our monitoring system. This time, the combat was done from the air. We monitored the movement of this aircraft and managed to intercept it accurately. The ground teams were also essential to reach the landing point and ensure the seizure of the cargo. The Pará Military Police shows once again that it is firm, prepared, and active in combating trafficking, wherever it occurs in our state," said the commander-general of the Military Police, Colonel Dilson Júnior.

According to the military, the teams left around 3 a.m. and are still facing obstacles to reach the exact area of the clandestine landing. The area where the seizure took place is hard to access and has a history of use by criminal organizations. The operation is ongoing, with diligence and support from the Public Security Air Group (Graesp), to locate the second aircraft and other possible individuals involved.

The Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense, Ualame Machado, stated that Pará has made another major drug seizure in the western region of Pará, continuing work that has been done on the rivers, but also in combating air trafficking, dismantling criminal organizations.

"Especially on this occasion, we seized about one ton of skunk that had been transported by aircraft, possibly coming from another country, and that the security forces monitored and managed to seize. Thus, it is another ton seized, certainly moving towards a new historic year in drug seizures in Pará. We have already come very close, still at the beginning of the eighth month of the year, to what was seized in the entire year of 2024, and certainly this year we will have a new historic record of drug seizures in Pará," said the head of Segup.

The actions are ongoing and, so far, in addition to the located drugs, two men have been arrested, and two trucks and two aircraft have been seized.
