Governor Helder Barbalho increased investment in promoting public technical assistance and rural extension

The Government of Pará, through the Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Company (Emater-Pará), delivered 39 vehicles on the afternoon of this Monday (28), Farmer's Day, to ensure support for the regional and local offices of the company in various regions. The event took place at the Palace of Dispatches, with the presence of Governor Helder Barbalho, who emphasized the importance of technical assistance and rural extension (Ater) activities in promoting and encouraging, as well as ensuring investments to bring more public policies to the farmers of the State.

“These vehicles will provide more support in the area of extension, through Emater, which is present in all 144 municipalities of the State. This delivery ensures more support and the necessary structure for Emater to collaborate with support and assistance, so that the production of the State can grow more,” said the governor.

The state's action covered 39 municipalities

The initiative reinforces the state government's commitment to the services and support provided by rural extension workers to farmers in Pará, expanding the logistical access of technicians to remote regions and bringing access to the public policies that Emater provides, through credit lines, ensuring greater economic development for the sector and improvements in production.

Also participating in the administrative act were the president of the Legislative Assembly, Deputy Francisco Melo (Chicão); the president of Emater, Joniel Abreu; state deputy Josué Paiva, and the mayor of Almeirim, Maria Lucidalva Bezerra de Carvalho (Lúcia do Líder), among other authorities, as well as representatives and extension workers from Emater in each municipality covered.

For Joniel Abreu, these deliveries demonstrate the commitment of the Government of Pará to guarantee support to small farmers, through the public Ater company. “This is the second delivery of vehicles that the government has made this year alone, to strengthen the work of technical assistance and extension, to bring support and access to public policies to farmers throughout Pará,” said the president of the company.

Logistics and assistance - The delivery of vehicles covered the Regional Offices of Capanema, Castanhal, Marabá, São Miguel do Guamá, and Abaetetuba; the Local Offices of Altamira, Cachoeira do Piriá, Viseu, Igarapé-Açu, Tomé-Açu, Conceição do Araguaia, Bannach, Xinguara, Belém, Marituba, Salvaterra, Tucuruí, Alenquer, Almeirim, Belterra, Juruti, Mojuí dos Campos, Capitão Poço, Garrafão do Norte, Ipixuna do Pará, Jacareacanga, Placas, Moju, Acará, Tailândia, Bragança, Primavera, Soure, Breu Branco, Nova Ipixuna, Piçarra, Rondon do Pará, Novo Progresso, and Barcarena.

Mayor Lúcia do Líder said that the vehicle will assist the work of Emater's rural extension workers operating in Almeirim. “This vehicle will strengthen our family agriculture. The extension workers do daily work, and with this new vehicle, for sure, farmers and rural producers in the more distant localities of our municipality will benefit from the public policies offered by Emater,” she emphasized.

In May of this year, the State delivered 35 vehicles to other regional and local offices of Emater. The public company has offices in all 144 municipalities, demonstrating the commitment of the Government of Pará to technical assistance and rural extension for family farmers and small producers.
