Death Verification Service has new service channels
The numbers available for the population are institutional. The old service channels have already been deactivated.
As a state reference in the free performance of autopsies to clarify undefined natural deaths, the Death Verification Service (SVO) announces its new service channels to the public. The exclusive number for requests for body removals and operational demands is (91) 98400-0257, with service available daily, including weekends and holidays.

Contact for administrative demands - (91) 97400-6948 - is intended for requests for reports, records, clarifications about causes of death, informational and epidemiological demands, among other administrative matters.
The SVO is a partnership of nearly 12 years of operation between the State Department of Public Health (Sespa) and the Scientific Police of the State of Pará (PCE-PA). Linked to the Health Surveillance Directorate (DVS) of Sespa, the Service aims to clarify causes of undefined natural deaths, such as in cases of people who died at home or were found dead, without signs of violence, and those who died in health units, but without a clearly established cause of death.
The coordinator of the SVO, Elza Moreira, warns that the new numbers are institutional and owned by Sespa, and that the old service channels, previously managed by a third party, have already been deactivated. The goal of this strategy, according to her, is to automate the Service for the delicate moment when the population needs it.

Fundamental role - “In moments of loss, which are naturally delicate for families, the SVO plays a fundamental role not only in supporting the determination of the cause of death but also in producing data that helps to understand the epidemiological scenario of mortality in the State,” emphasizes Elza Moreira.
It is important to highlight that the work of the SVO is distinct from that developed by the Scientific Police of the State of Pará, responsible for autopsies of deaths with suspected external causes (accidents, falls, poisonings, homicides, and other situations).

In addition to its assistance function, the SVO strategically contributes to the feeding of the Mortality Information System (SIM) of the Ministry of Health, providing essential data for the planning and evaluation of public health policies.
