State guarantees safety for over 57 thousand passengers in the first half of July
With coordinated actions in 14 ports of Pará, Artran reinforces inspection and enhances the quality of intermunicipal transport service
The Public Transport Regulation and Control Agency (Artran) reports the movement of 57,761 passengers at the intermunicipal hydro terminals in Pará during the first 15 days of Operation Summer 2025. The action, which continues until the beginning of August, reflects the State government's commitment to safe and quality transport, ensuring peace of mind for those who need to travel during the school vacation period.

Between July 1st and 15th, the highest movement was recorded at the Belém Hydro Terminal, with 36,799 passengers. The Barcarena Expresso, Amazonat (Ver-o-Peso), and Arapari (on Rua Siqueira Mendes) ports also stood out, each with over 8,000 users in the total for the fortnight.
Artran teams inspected 26 intermunicipal lines and 21 companies, operating in 14 ports in different regions. The agents checked the conditions of the vessels, mandatory documentation, compliance with gratuities, punctuality, and the conduct of the operators.

“Following the recommendation of our director-general and the guidance of the State government, Artran has been actively present at the departures and arrivals of intermunicipal vessels, inspecting occupancy, compliance with gratuities, schedules, and the conduct of the companies. Our inspectors are attentive to ensure that the service is provided with quality to the user. We have already carried out fines and seizures, but everything is within the expected normality for the period,” highlights Moisés Marques, coordinator of Aquatic Transport at Artran.

Balance of the first half:
- 6,929 gratuities granted
- 1,024 infants transported
- 10 occurrences recorded and monitored by the technical team

The occurrences involved operational delays, attempts to commit fraud in the use of gratuities, and irregular transportation of cooking gas cylinders. All were duly forwarded for investigation and corrective measures.
“It is important to highlight that inspection does not occur only during school vacations. Artran maintains continuous work throughout the year, with reinforcement on weekends and holidays, especially at the main terminals and lines. We are also acting firmly against clandestine transport, so that operators regularize their activities or have them terminated,” adds Moisés Marques.
