Detran agents combat infractions at Ajuruteua Beach in Bragança
Barriers are set up on the main state highways leading to the municipality and the breathalyzer test is applied

The State Traffic Department (Detran) continues to monitor the main destinations for summer vacationers this July to ensure safety on the roads. In Bragança, in northeastern Pará, the team that operates in the municipality throughout the year sets up inspection barriers on the main state highways leading to the city to curb infractions. Last Saturday (19), the agents were at Ajuruteua Beach to inspect drivers and vehicles.
The beach is one of the most sought after on the Pará coast, and this weekend records one of the highest movements since the beginning of Operation Summer 2025. The "Dry Law" was enforced in the late afternoon to curb the mixing of alcohol and driving. Most drivers passed the breathalyzer test unscathed, showing that the rate of compliance with the guidance not to drive after consuming alcoholic beverages increases with each operation.

Juliane Raiol spent the day at the beach with her family and did not refuse to take the alcohol test. "I don't usually drink, but I know that many people do not obey the laws and end up putting at risk the lives of those who do not consume alcoholic beverages while driving. I think this inspection is really cool, and it's important for our safety. Drivers need to be more aware of themselves and others as well," she said.
Conscious fun - IT technician Evandro Silva said he consumed a small amount of beer upon arriving at the beach. Since he did not continue drinking, when he took the test early in the evening, he passed the breathalyzer. "I organized my fun so that I could enjoy this occasion with my family, but without compromising our safety. A colleague of ours had a traffic accident, a victim of a drunk person. People need to realize that drinking and driving do not mix," emphasized Evandro.

Detran's actions focus on the PA-112 Highway and, mainly, on the PA-458, the Bragança-Ajuruteua road. So far, one accident with a victim has been recorded and more than 80 infractions, most for overdue licensing, vehicles without plates, irregular transportation of children, vehicles with excess passengers, unlicensed drivers, and driving under the influence of alcohol. Altered vehicles, and even those reported as stolen, have also been caught by the agents.
