Graesp promotes forest fire combat training for the Fire Department
The initiative aims to level the knowledge of 45 agents on the use of helicopters in combating environmental crimes, in preparation for Operation Phoenix

The Air Group of Public Security (Graesp) taught a class on forest fire combat using helicopters on Friday (18) for the 40th Knowledge Leveling Instruction – INC Forest 2025, promoted by the National Force for 45 students from the Military Fire Department of Pará (CBMPA). The specialized instruction is aimed at operations for combating forest fires using helicopters, in order to level the technical knowledge of the participants.
“This exchange of information among security agents strengthens the institutions, sharing knowledge so that everyone can act in their areas of action with greater capacity and safety in the missions that each agency develops to help combat environmental crimes,” said the Secretary of State for Public Security and Social Defense, Ualame Machado.
Participating in the leveling are 45 agents from the Military Fire Department, who attend classes on various topics, including safety in the aircraft, ZPH, POP, techniques used in environmental missions, safety areas and procedures, equipment and operational conduct, and flight safety, focused on safety in aircraft.

Essential topics - The instructions are given by Lieutenant Colonel Leandro Tavares, who emphasizes the importance of training and Graesp's participation in operations to combat environmental crimes. “The instruction we are conducting at Graesp addresses essential topics for the safety and efficiency of aerial operations, focusing on AS350 Ecureuil helicopters. Knowledge was shared about the technical characteristics of the aircraft, risks associated with helicopter operations, as well as safe boarding procedures, among other relevant topics for the aircraft's operability, as well as operational procedures for safety actions carried out in combating forest fires,” said the coordinator and instructor of the training.
The training precedes the start of Operation Phoenix, carried out by the Military Fire Department, and aims to prevent and assist in combating forest fires and illegal deforestation in Pará.
The instruction will conclude on Sunday (20), marking the end of the preparation for the actions developed by Operation Phoenix.
