PGE guarantees the State revenue of over R$ 112 million in Active Debt
The resource comes from debts to the state administration recovered by the Attorney General's Office (PGE) only this year of 2025
According to the Comparative Revenue Report, developed by the Active Debt Attorney's Office (PDA), over R$ 112 million was collected between January and May 2025, referring to debts registered in the State's Active Debt registry. The recovered amount represents an increase in the public budget and can be reverted to the population through works, maintenance, and expansion of public services.
“The population benefits from the recovery of these amounts. These recovered resources enter the public budget and return with more works and indispensable services for society,” said Ducival Pereira Júnior, Chief Attorney of the Active Debt Attorney's Office.
The PDA is part of the Attorney General's Office (PGE) and operates in the management of tax and non-tax credits registered in Active Debt, in addition to promoting their administrative and judicial collection.
“Any debt to the State can be negotiated, according to legal criteria, through administrative installment on the Department of Finance (SEFA) portal or through tax transaction before the PGE. The point is to understand that the collected amounts are essential for society itself,” the Attorney added.
According to the Comparative Report, between January and May 2024, the total collected was R$ 89.32 million.
“Comparing the same period between the years 2024 and 2025, we had a significant increase in this collection. The difference is over R$ 23 million, which represents a growth of more than 26%. There were R$ 23 million more in resources available in 2025. This happened due to the modernization of the collection - since October, we have developed and used an Active Debt Intelligence System - allowing for greater efficiency and selectivity in action, in addition to strategic action in tax executions, enabling the celebration of legal transactions, administrative installments, and asset seizures in tax executions,” celebrated Ducival.
