Registrations for the 'Server's Gaze' photography contest start this Monday (21)
An initiative by Seplad in partnership with the School of Public Governance reaches its 6th edition with 200 spots for public servants from all over Pará

The Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat of Planning and Administration (Seplad), in partnership with the School of Public Governance (EGPA), will open registrations for the 6th Edition of the photography contest "Server's Gaze" next Monday (21) at 10 am. State public servants will be able to register until August 1st or while there are spots available on the contest website.

With the theme "COP30, a new look at the Amazon", this edition aims to highlight the diversity and sociocultural and environmental richness of the Amazon territory, in reference to the 30th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP30), in Belém from November 10 to 21. The proposal is to encourage public servants to capture, through photography, their perceptions of Pará and the Amazon.

The director of Occupational Health of the Server at Seplad, Thais Santos, explains that the initiative seeks to recognize the creative talents of public servants. "The main objective of the contest is to encourage and value public servants through photography. The initiative was conceived in celebration of Public Servant Day, celebrated on October 28, and represents an opportunity for servants to express their creativity. This edition highlights the importance of environmental preservation and sustainability, aligning with global debates that will gain prominence with the COP30 in Belém."

In total, 200 spots will be offered, with 50 for each sub-theme, which in this edition are inspired by songs that exalt the culture of Pará: "This river is my street", "Amazon", "I am from the North" and "Flying to Pará". Effective public servants from all over the state of Pará, linked to Direct and Indirect administrations, stable or not, active or inactive, as well as temporary, interns, and exclusively commissioned are eligible to participate. Servants from the Legislative and Judicial branches, the State Public Ministry, the Courts of Accounts, and the State and Municipal Public Accounts Ministry are also eligible.

To confirm the registration, it will be necessary to donate a food kit containing all the items and quantities listed below: 1 kg of beans, 1 kg of rice, 1 kg of sugar, 1 package of pasta (400 g), 1 package of coffee (250 g), and 1 package of milk (200 g). The delivery will take place between August 4 and 6, from 9 am to 4 pm. All collected food will be donated to charity institutions.

Servants stationed in Belém and the Metropolitan Region (Ananindeua, Barcarena, Marituba, Benevides, Santa Izabel do Pará, Santa Bárbara do Pará, and Castanhal) must deliver the food at the Seplad headquarters, located at Travessa do Chaco, No. 2350, Marco neighborhood. In Marabá, Parauapebas, Santarém, Tucuruí, and Itaituba, the delivery should be made at the Citizenship Stations. Servants stationed in other municipalities will be exempt from the obligation to donate food due to the absence of receiving units.

The contest reaffirms the commitment of the Government of Pará to valuing its servants and promoting Amazonian identity through art and individual expression. Kamille Francez, advisor to the vice-governor of the State and third place in the 3rd edition of the contest, emphasizes the experience. "It was incredible and special. More than a competition, it was an opportunity to express my perspective on our daily life, our history, and the small details that often go unnoticed in the rush of everyday life," she highlighted.
"By photographing for the contest, I was able to reflect on my role as a servant and understand how art can be a powerful means of connection among servants from various areas. Seeing the diversity of perspectives and interpretations in the photos of the participants was inspiring. For those who enjoy photography, even as a hobby, I strongly recommend participating," said Kamille Francez.
