Launched on June 27, the Safe Summer Operation 2025 is already showing positive results in public safety in Pará. According to data released by the State Secretariat for Public Security and Social Defense (Segup), there was a 22% decrease in robbery cases and a 55% drop in theft records compared to the same period last year. In total, the number of occurrences fell from 5,377 in 2024 to 4,170 in 2025, a reduction of 1,200 crimes.

Antônio Guedes, a resident of the São Brás neighborhood in Belém, took advantage of his time off to travel to the island of Mosqueiro and praised the policing: "For sure, we always notice in Mosqueiro, in recent years, the increased police presence, especially in these busier areas where we usually come with family."

"In the Village, at night, we see patrol cars, police walking among the public, we see the motorcycles that the police pass by, and we feel safe to eat something, to play with our children, to enjoy the family atmosphere of the Village, too."

The operation's strategy mobilizes 7,358 military police in tourist locations and areas of high circulation. In addition to the reinforced personnel, the structure includes 223 vehicles, including cars and motorcycles, aerial and river patrols, and integrated command centers that allow real-time monitoring of security actions.

The focus is on prevention and increasing safety for residents and visitors. "We have sought to reinforce visible policing and act with intelligence to ensure a more peaceful summer for everyone," said the head of the General Operations Department, Colonel Getúlio Rocha.

"With the first positive results, the expectation is that crime rates will continue to decline until the end of the operation, scheduled for August, following the flow of tourists in Pará," added Colonel Getúlio Rocha.

Capital of Pará - And for those who chose to stay in Belém, policing has not decreased, nor has it been affected by the deployment of personnel for operational reinforcement in the main bathing areas. In the metropolitan region, policing continues with the same ordinary personnel and the same operational planning, with emphasis on the "Stronger Police" operation, which intensifies police presence from 5 PM to 11 PM on the main roads and areas with the highest flow of people, when the population is returning home.
