The Government of Pará, through the "Por Todas Elas" Program, delivered more than 1,200 prescription glasses to residents of the Industrial District neighborhood in Ananindeua, in the Metropolitan Region of Belém, this Tuesday (15). The health action took place at the Antônio Teixeira Gueiros State School and benefited people who underwent eye exams offered by the State to residents of the neighborhood last May.

A total of 1,209 new glasses were delivered, benefiting adults, the elderly, and children, who now have improved quality of life, emphasized resident Gisele Carneiro, who received glasses for her son. “This is my son's first pair of glasses. He used to have a lot of headaches and had problems at school because he couldn't see properly. Now, it will improve a lot. He said he can see better now,” she added.

Benefits - Another beneficiary of the action was Soraia Castro and her daughter Sophie Vitória. “I had been without glasses for two years. Now, my daughter and I have them. I need them to help my daughter with her homework. She also wasn't seeing well, and now she will be able to improve her studies. This action was very important because we were financially unable to acquire new glasses,” Soraia said.

Cook Lucileia Lima also said that the glasses will help her at work. “It was very good to receive these glasses. I am a cook and need to have better vision. These glasses are perfect. I thank the state government. Now, the whole community will be able to have better vision,” she reiterated.

“Through this great program of the Government of Pará, we are increasingly bringing services, health, and citizenship to the communities. Today, we are bringing these equipment that will help women and men have a better quality of life and better vision, so they can carry out their domestic, professional, and study activities,” informed the State Secretary of Citizenship Articulation, Elieth Braga.

Service: People served in the action that took place in the Industrial District neighborhood who could not attend the delivery this Tuesday (15) can, starting this Wednesday (16), pick up the glasses directly at the Usina da Paz Prof. Amintas Pinheiro, in the Icuí-Guajará neighborhood (Estrada do Icuí-Guajará, corner with Avenida Independência). It is necessary to present an official identification document.
