The Civil Police of Pará, through the Delegacy for the Repression of Bank Robberies and Anti-Kidnapping (DRRBA), and with the support of the Igarapé-Miri Delegacy and the Investigation Support Nucleus (NAI) of Abaetetuba, in the Tocantins Integration Region, arrested a man in the act for aggravated robbery and criminal association on this Monday (14). The investigations began after a bank agency, located in the municipality of Igarapé-Miri, was targeted in a criminal action that occurred in the early hours of Monday (14).

Five armed and hooded individuals invaded the establishment, from which approximately R$ 360,000 and two .38 caliber revolvers, belonging to the security company and in the possession of the agency's guards, were taken.

"Based on the information collected shortly after the crime, searches were initiated with the main objective of dismantling the criminal association and arresting the individuals. Throughout the investigations, one of the suspects involved in the crime was identified and located in Igarapé-Miri. During the approach, he was found with approximately 14 thousand reais. At the police station, the man confessed to the DRRBA agents, linked to the Division for the Repression of Organized Crime (DRCO), that the amount was part of the stolen money, and that the group of criminals had already divided the illicitly obtained amounts," explained delegate Juliano Côrrea, head of the DRCO.

Suspect was arrested in the act

In the act - Delegate Mhoab Khayan, Regional Superintendent of Baixo Tocantins, reported how the criminal acted during the robbery. “We were able to identify that the suspect had the role of observing the movement around the bank agency, with the intention of spotting any possible approach of vehicles and security forces, while the other individuals committed the robbery. During the arrest, he was caught in the act and taken to the Civil Police Delegacy for the necessary procedures,” said Mhoab Khayan.

The case continues to be investigated, so that all those involved can be identified and located.
