Homicide suspect arrested during 'Shallow Grave' operation by the Civil Police of Pará

The Civil Police, through the Metropolitan Homicide Police Station (DHM), launched Operation Shallow Grave on Thursday (10), aiming to execute preventive arrest warrants and search and seizure warrants related to homicide, concealment of a corpse, and criminal association.

The action took place simultaneously in the municipalities of Belém, Ananindeua, Marituba, Benevides, and Santo Antônio do Tauá, resulting in the execution of 11 search and seizure warrants and one preventive arrest warrant in Belém. The arrest occurred in the Jurunas neighborhood against a suspect identified as a member of a criminal faction operating in Pará.

The investigations began on September 7, 2024, when the victim Fabrício Oliveira da Silva left home to buy drinks and disappeared. Family members reported that he had been subjected to a “crime tribunal” in the Marituba area, where his death was decreed.

Actions taken by the Civil Police at the time resulted in the flagrant arrest of two suspects, who indicated the location where the victim's body had been buried. Last Saturday (5), another person involved in the crime was also arrested in Benevides.

According to delegate Marco Antônio, director of the Metropolitan Homicide Police Station, the operation is the result of continuous and coordinated investigative work.

“The arrest of the suspect is part of a set of actions aimed at dismantling a criminal association involved in executions and concealment of a corpse. We continue with the efforts to locate and arrest the other individuals involved,” he emphasized.

The investigations continue with the goal of identifying other members of the criminal group and deepening the inquiries related to the case.
