Southeast Pará Hospital surpasses 268 thousand services, growth is 57%
In the first half of 2025, the unit also achieved 96% user satisfaction

The Regional Hospital of Southeast Pará – Dr. Geraldo Veloso (HRSP), in Marabá, reached a new productivity milestone in the first six months of 2025. From January to June, the unit performed over 268 thousand services, representing a growth of 57% compared to the same period in 2024, when about 170 thousand procedures were recorded.
Among the services provided during this period, 232,606 laboratory and imaging tests, 20,830 outpatient consultations in various specialties, 2,650 hospital admissions, and 2,367 surgeries stand out. Additionally, 8,013 hemodialysis sessions, 1,032 chemotherapy sessions, and 864 hemodynamic procedures were performed, highlighting the complexity and breadth of care offered by the unit.

The Secretary of State for Public Health of Pará, Ivete Gadelha Vaz, attributed the significant progress in Marabá to the continuous investments of the State Government in expanding the public network. "We are strengthening health with more structure, qualified professionals, and an expansion of services. The growth of the Regional Hospital in Marabá shows that we are on the right track, providing quality care to those who need it most," said the head of Sespa.
A reference in medium and high complexity in the Carajás region, the Regional Hospital in Marabá has expanded its capacity to provide care by offering new specialties, implementing strategic services such as the oncology department, and increasing care targets.
User Satisfaction
In addition to the significant growth in services, the Regional Hospital of Marabá also recorded a high approval rating from users in the first half of 2025. From January to June, the unit achieved 96% satisfaction among patients treated, according to a survey conducted by the Ombudsman/User Service (SAU).

The survey is conducted monthly through the application of 1,800 questionnaires, which assess aspects such as receptivity, welcome, technical quality, infrastructure, and humanization. Data collection occurs both in person and digitally, using QR Code, expanding the reach and participation of patients.
Housewife Maria das Dores Almeida, 57, a resident of Itupiranga, in the Tucuruí lake region, was treated in the cardiology outpatient clinic and praised the organization of the unit. "I was very well received from the reception to the consultation. Everything was very clean, organized, and with attentive professionals. I can only express gratitude," she reported.
Retiree José Ferreira da Silva, 68, a resident of Marabá in the Carajás region, underwent orthopedic surgery at the unit and highlighted the hospital's structure. "I found everything excellent, from the exams to the post-operative care. I felt safe the whole time, and that makes all the difference when you are sick," he stated.

Services Offered
Under the management of the Social and Environmental Institute of the Amazon (ISSAA), in partnership with the Secretary of State for Public Health (Sespa), the Regional Hospital of Marabá offers more than 30 types of services in medical, laboratory, and multiprofessional areas, ensuring comprehensive and specialized care for the population.
Among the medical specialties, the hospital stands out in traumatology, one of the most demanded areas, in addition to offering services in ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, cardiology, anesthesiology, urology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, nephrology, high-risk obstetrics, bucomaxillofacial surgery, general surgery, pediatric surgery, reconstructive plastic surgery, and vascular surgery.
For the hospital's executive director, Flávio Marconsini, the results reflect the commitment to excellence and humanization in care. "The impressive numbers show the strength of our collective work and the trust of the population in the service we provide," he emphasized.
The manager also highlights that the hospital has Intensive Care Units (ICUs) dedicated to the care of adults, children, and newborns, in addition to 24-hour uninterrupted assistance in cases of urgency and emergency. The unit also offers radiology, infectious disease, medical, surgical, and specialty clinics, as well as teams for nutrition, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, hemodynamics, oncology, and hemodialysis.
Structure: The care at the Regional Hospital in Marabá is entirely provided by the Unified Health System (SUS), ensuring comprehensive and free access to the population. The hospital's structure includes 135 beds, with 97 designated for clinical admission and 38 for Adult, Pediatric, and Neonatal Intensive Care Units (ICU).
