During an inspection carried out this Thursday (10) by the Coordination of Goods in Transit Control of Carajás, from the State Department of Finance (Sefa), in southeastern Pará, 65,100 kilograms of asphalt cement were seized, valued at R$ 368,914.04.

“The seizure occurred at the Jarbas Passarinho fiscal post on the Transamazon Highway (BR-230), KM-120, where two vehicles transporting goods from Ananindeua (Metropolitan Region of Belém) to Ourilândia do Norte (southeast) and Belém, in the State of Pará, were approached. After document analysis, it was found that the electronic invoices presented indicated the transport of asphalt cement, a product used in paving works. The loads were not accompanied by a valid fiscal document, showing discrepancies and inconsistencies regarding the link between the transported load and the transport service,” explained the unit coordinator, Cicinato Oliveira.

During the inspectors' approach, the drivers stated that they traveled along BR-010 (Belém-Brasília) to Imperatriz (MA), and then re-entered Pará territory, “which constitutes a route totally incompatible with the declared destinations. Furthermore, there is no record of the vehicles passing through the fiscal posts of the Department of Finance in the locations they claimed to have transited, demonstrating that it was not an internal operation, as stated in the invoices,” informed Cicinato Oliveira, state revenue inspector.

Two Terms of Seizure and Deposit (TADs) were drawn up, totaling R$ 125,797.15, charging the amount of the due ICMS and the fine.
