Governor Helder Barbalho and Vice Governor Hana Ghassan swore in ten new State Prosecutors on Wednesday (09) during an event held at the Hall of Acts of the Palace of Dispatches in Belém. The candidates approved for the positions took the exam in 2023, but the publication of the final result occurred in April 2024.

“We are a team, a crew, and our government would not be the same if we had not had, at every moment, the support of the State Prosecutor's Office. An idea needs to become a reality and must represent transformation in the life of this state. For that, it needs legal support. If today the state is a construction site and is advancing in so many achievements, it is because we had the backing of legal opinions and legal support, and it is you who provide us with that support,” emphasized Governor Helder Barbalho during the swearing-in ceremony.

The XXII Public Competition for State Prosecutor of Pará offered 10 positions for the role, with nine for general competition and one for candidates with disabilities, in addition to the Reserve List. The exams were held in the municipalities of Belém, Marabá, and Santarém. A total of 2,505 candidates registered for the competition.

“Today, the Attorney General's Office is present with its team of servers and prosecutors in all State Secretariats, in all direct and indirect administration entities, in 100% of them. And the arrival of new prosecutors is essential for us to maintain this coverage and the effective proactive work in favor of maintaining legal regularity and legal security in the decision-making of the State Government. These 10 new prosecutors will add to and reinforce this diversity of action of the PGE, both in the area of judicial processes and in the consultative area of public policy formulation,” reinforced the Attorney General of the State, Ricardo Sefer.

At the venue, in addition to signing the PGE's possession book, the new prosecutors also signed the term of commencement of exercise, which ensures that the approved candidates start their activities in the agency immediately.

“The role we have chosen carries an honorable mission, to defend and legally guide the state so that it realizes the policies formulated by the democratic process, fulfilling fundamental rights and ensuring a public administration that upholds constitutional ideals,” said Breno José Góes Cruz, the sworn-in State Prosecutor.

In 2025, the PGE will complete 40 years of existence. During this period, it has held 22 public competitions for State Prosecutor. Only between the years 2021 and 2024, two competitions were held to fill vacancies in the position, with 18 new prosecutors being sworn in. In total, the PGE now has 133 State Prosecutors, working on the institution's demands, ensuring the expansion of its services and addressing public interest demands.

Agreement – During the swearing-in ceremony, representatives of the PGE and the State Court of Justice (TJPA) signed a collaboration for the maintenance of the Attus System for Judicial Process Management and its integration with the PJe system and the TJPA. The document guarantees technological support to the PGE for judicial action in defense of its representatives.

The partnership will enable more agile communication, data control, and standardization of procedures, allowing the Court to contribute to the maintenance of the tool, as well as the dialogue between the institutions.

Although it is for the exclusive use of the PGE, the Attus System will bring broad benefits to all its representatives, including the TJPA, especially in the processes where the PGE acts as its legal representative.
