PM holds strategic planning and operational balance meeting
With the aim of evaluating operational results and aligning strategies for the second half of 2025, the General Commander of the Military Police of Pará, Colonel Dilson Júnior, met remotely this Monday (7) with the Regional Commanders and Administrative Directors. During the meeting, advances in the fight against crime were highlighted, including the significant reduction of Intentional Violent Lethal Crimes (CVLI), making 2024, so far, the best year in the historical series for this indicator.
The achievement was celebrated during a meeting of the High Command of the Military Police, with emphasis on the positive results of strategic operations carried out throughout the state, including the inspection of clandestine parties, the fight against drug trafficking, and Operation Summer.
The General Commander of PMPA, Colonel Dilson Júnior, highlighted the commitment of the troops and the direct impact of integrated actions in combating crime.
“The year 2024 can already be considered the best in the historical series in terms of homicide reduction. I congratulate the entire corporation for their efforts, especially in inspection operations, which have been fundamental in curbing violence, and in the large seizures of drugs, which directly weaken organized crime,” declared the commander.
Also on the agenda was Operation Summer, which began at the end of June, conceived through joint planning between the General Commander, the General Staff, and the Intermediate Commands (COINTs), with a robust investment that ensures reinforcement of policing in strategic areas.
The Director of Operations (DGO), Colonel Getúlio, took the opportunity to highlight that approximately R$ 5 million was invested by the government of Pará to strengthen police presence in regions with higher tourist flow. According to the DGO, the month of July already shows a significant decrease in crime rates compared to the same period in 2024.
“We are achieving good results. This demonstrates that the strategic management of policing and the good administrative functioning of the PM, such as the work carried out by the General Administration Department, the Logistics Support Directorate, the Finance Directorate, as well as other administrative management bodies, are directly reflecting on the safety of the population,” stated Colonel Getúlio Cândido Rocha Júnior.
On this occasion, the General Commander announced that the troops are being equipped with new vests and pistols, promoting greater safety and efficiency in operations. He also mentioned the upcoming graduation of the Adaptation Course to the Rank of 3rd Sergeant (CGS) and the Sergeant Improvement Course (CAS), scheduled for July 10, both totaling approximately 382 military police officers, who will later be presented in their home units better prepared to reinforce policing this July.
Among the administrative matters discussed, the Logistics Support Director (DAL) reported the delivery of three new barracks just in June, namely, the 29th Independent Company of the Military Police, in the city of Óbidos, and two barracks in the city of Altamira, the 4th Independent Company of Special Missions and the 52nd Rural Police Battalion, in addition to other deliveries to be announced in the coming months.
Furthermore, he mentioned that next Wednesday (09), at the Hangar in Belém, there will be the official delivery of new weapons and vests, further strengthening the structure of public safety.
