Government strengthens road maintenance to ensure safety in the Amazon summer 2025
The main state highways providing access to beaches and resorts in Pará are receiving asphalt recovery and maintenance services.
With the arrival of July and the beginning of the Amazon summer, the Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat of Infrastructure and Logistics (Seinfra), has intensified asphalt recovery and maintenance services on the main state highways that provide access to beaches and resorts in Pará. The Summer Operation 2025 aims to ensure road safety, traffic flow, and comfort for the thousands of vacationers who will enjoy the hottest season of the year in Pará.
Among the actions are pavement recovery, shoulder cleaning, vegetation trimming along the roadsides, pothole repairs, and revitalization of horizontal and vertical signage. Work fronts are active on highways such as PA-136, PA-318, PA-324, PA-124, PA-127, PA-391 (access to Mosqueiro), as well as PA-457 and PA-257, which connect Santarém to the Village of Alter do Chão and the municipality of Juruti, and to Fernando Guilhon (PA-453), also in western Pará. The schedule continues with teams working in Maracanã, São Domingos do Capim, BR-222 (state-managed), PA-275, PA-160, PA-429, PA-254, PA-419, PA-427, and PA-425, covering various administrative regions.

According to the State Secretary of Infrastructure and Logistics, Adler Silveira, the care for the highways goes beyond infrastructure. “Keeping our roads in good condition during the Amazon summer is a public safety action. We are talking about saving lives, preventing accidents, and ensuring that families in Pará can travel peacefully to enjoy their vacations. July is the month when we receive the most visitors at the beaches, which is why we intensified maintenance to provide total safety and mobility to the population,” he stated.
Peace of mind - Those who have already packed their bags to enjoy the summer confirm the difference on the road. Real estate agent Steffani Feio travels every year to Ajuruteua, in Bragança, and highlighted the improvement on the highway. “It’s getting faster to reach Ajuruteua, with the roads being like a carpet, it has become a smooth trip to the destination. Bragança is far, but we end up having a smooth trip to Ajuruteua because of the good condition of the roads,” she said.

Meanwhile, building technician Ana Beatriz Oliveira will take advantage of her vacation to visit beaches in the Salgado region. “I will hit the road this summer and I am surprised by the quality of the roads. Whether it’s the asphalt work, the cleaning of the medians, or the maintenance with the trimming of the grass, everything is commendable. This provides safety for the driver and complete visibility, allowing us to travel peacefully and enjoy the beauty of the beaches in Pará,” she commented.

Lawyer Caio Frazão, who usually travels to Salinas with his family, will also hit the road next weekend. “Such care and permanent attention have provided greater peace of mind to drivers heading to the beaches and resorts of the state. By keeping the roads in good condition, the government reduces the risk of accidents, improves traffic flow, and ensures that trips are more comfortable and safe,” he evaluated.
The Summer Operation 2025 continues throughout July with teams mobilized in different regions of the State, reinforcing the commitment of the Government of Pará to the well-being of the population and the strengthening of domestic tourism during the high season.
