The first Sunday of July's summer recorded intense activity on the main beaches in the District of Outeiro, in the Metropolitan Region of Belém. The district is one of the 50 locations covered by the planning developed by the Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense (Segup) along with other agencies of the Security System through the "Operation Summer 2025." All measures aim to minimize any disturbances or serious occurrences to ensure a peaceful summer.

The actions initiated in the district seek to ensure the protection and well-being of all who visit the beaches of Outeiro, points out the Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense, Ualame Machado.

"We have intensified visible policing, aiming to prevent and curb any illegal activities. Additionally, we are conducting a rigorous inspection of cutting lines, ensuring a safe environment for everyone. Our primary goal is to minimize any incidents or serious occurrences so that everyone can enjoy a peaceful, safe, and memorable summer. We count on everyone's collaboration so that together we can build a summer of peace and joy in Outeiro," he stated.

Actions - At the entrance of Outeiro, in a barrier action, the Military Police, Municipal Guard of Belém, and the traffic team from the Municipal Secretary of Security, Public Order, and Mobility of Belém (Segbel) inspected irregularities of drivers and their vehicles such as expired licensing or mechanical issues like bald tires and cracked windshields.
Only this Sunday (06), about 14 vehicles had already been removed.

On the beaches, the work focused on the prevention of bathers. One of the most common occurrences in this operation that continued this weekend is the locating of children. Despite the identification service for the little ones with the bracelets distributed at the Fire Department posts, many parents neglect to perform this simple act to ensure their children's safety.

The beaches of Amor, Barro Branco, and Paraíso received coverage from 30 military lifeguards. In addition to the support of a vessel and two vehicles, the mobile center of the Fire Department was used as a support point.

According to the agency, the estimate for this weekend was a crowd of 15,000 bathers, who are generally residents of Icoaraci, Outeiro, Tapanã, Tenoné, and surrounding areas.

The visible policing on foot and motorized was the responsibility of the Military Police, which conducts patrols and policing in the area, in addition to acting in integrated actions. One of the points observed by the teams was the cutting lines with cerol, known as Chilean lines. State Law No. 9,597, of 2022, prohibits the use, possession, manufacture, and sale of these cutting lines, both in kites and in other contexts. The inspections carried out aim to protect the safety of people and animals, as these lines can cause serious accidents.
