On the morning of this Sunday, July 6, the day that marks the 130th anniversary of the political emancipation of Marapanim, the Government of Pará delivered the new waterfront and another asphalted street in the municipality. The state deliveries ensure more infrastructure, mobility, culture, leisure, and job and income generation for the more than 28,000 residents of the Guamá Region city.

"I am happy to be celebrating and delivering this beautiful waterfront, the reconstructed square, more asphalt, and participating in this special moment that this land, which breathes the culture of carimbó, fishing, and tourism that shapes this Pará region, is experiencing on Marapanim's 130th anniversary. But nothing is done alone. We built this time of work and partnership so that this state could create a moment of progress and development," emphasized Governor Helder Barbalho, who announced during the speech that the Government of Pará will also ensure the construction of the second phase of the waterfront.

The State's Vice Governor, Hana Ghassan, reinforced the importance of the tourism potential of the municipality of Marapanim, which continues to receive works through the partnership between the state and municipal government.

"Marapanim is the land of a hospitable people, and this waterfront will further enhance the beauty of this municipality, bringing much prosperity, as we want to see this waterfront full of tourists getting to know our beauties. We delivered another asphalted street, with signage and drainage in Marudá, in addition to the square of Our Lady of Victories Church. And we have another waterfront to deliver, the one in Crispim, still this year. We are living a moment of unity and construction throughout the state of Pará, as these works are delivered in partnership with the municipalities," added Vice Governor Hana Ghassan.

With services executed through the State Secretariat of Public Works (Seop), the Marapanim Waterfront received new pier, snack bar, restrooms, kiosks, deck, new concrete ramp, lighting system with LED lamps, in addition to a concrete protective wall. The investment from the state treasury is R$ 4,373,176.11.

Danilo Alencar took his wife and son to see the Marapanim Waterfront and approved the new riverside space. "Our family came to take a walk and enjoy the city. The waterfront is very beautiful. The State Government is proving that it is doing its part. For sure, this is a very beautiful space," said Danilo Alencar.

Since 2019, this is the third waterfront delivered by the Government of Pará to the municipality of Marapanim. Before the waterfront in the city center, public equipment had already been delivered in the Villages of Marudazinho and Monte Alegre do Maú.

"The State Government has been a partner, and the people of Marapanim recognize the advances. It was Governor Helder Barbalho and Vice Governor Hana Ghassan who paved Transmaú. And today, it is not just the waterfront; it is the tourist spot, leisure, entertainment, and so many other good things that this work provides for our city," highlighted the mayor of Marapanim, Anderson Dias.

More asphalt - Still in Marapanim, in the district of Marudá, the Government of Pará delivered another stage of the asphalt paving of Travessa Mauá, ensuring infrastructure and urban mobility for a route to access the ferry port to the island of Algodoal.

"This was an ugly place, with a lot of weeds; in the winter it was full of mud. Now it has improved not only my situation but that of all the residents, as we have elderly people, disabled individuals, and children who need a better place, even to play in the late afternoon, as they can do now. This is a road that shortens the way to the port, without the need to go around the Marudá waterfront. I thank the State Government for the work," said Manoel Lobato, a resident of Travessa Mauá for 35 years.

The earthworks, drainage, asphalting, and signage services along approximately 450 meters of Travessa Mauá were carried out through the State Secretariat of Public Works (Seop).

Since 2019, the state has already ensured almost 12 kilometers of asphalt works for the municipality of Marapanim, in the Guamá Integration Region, an investment of more than R$ 26 million.

"The investment in asphalt works is another way for the State Government to ensure immediate transformation in the daily lives of the population. Many people in Marapanim can already take pride in not stepping in the winter mud anymore, and no longer having the inconvenience of summer dust,” evaluates the Secretary of Public Works, Ruy Cabral.
