The procession of the ox, hip hop battles, and a regional show with the band Vingadores do Brega marked the programming of the first weekend of July at Parque da Cidade, a new public facility in Belém.

The program began with the procession of the ox Veludinho from the Guamá neighborhood, entertaining the public who were strolling through the area. After arriving at the amphitheater, the group started the musical performance.

For Sidine Corrêa Viegas, a member of Boi Veludinho, participating in this initiative is an opportunity to broaden access to popular culture. “It is gratifying because we can show a little more of our culture. The response was good because everyone stopped to participate.”

Visitor Anderson dos Santos was experiencing the facility for the first time and was very excited about the cultural attractions. “It’s a different space; we are having a very good impact, it will add a lot to the city. My family and I really enjoyed it; we had a lot of fun with the presentation,” he said.

The hip hop battles also found a space in the amphitheater under the command of DJ NeySheknah and energized the children and young people.

The audience also took advantage of Saturday night to enjoy the park's spaces with volleyball and table tennis matches, bicycle rides, games with children, and family and friends gatherings.

This was the case for lawyer Heloisy Brito Damasceno, who gathered her daughter's school friends and their mothers for a picnic and to get to know the new facility.

“I was surprised by the structure, the games, with everything here in the park. A project of very interesting magnitude within the city with greenery. I believe that the park, in addition to bringing greater relevance to the city, brings economy, culture, and various things that improve Belém as a whole,” declared Heloisy.

The program concluded with a show by the band Vingadores do Brega at the park's amphitheater, which entertained visitors with original songs and hits from Pará music.

On Sunday, July 6, cultural activities continue at 5 PM with the theatrical performance IN BUST, Pássaro Junino Tem-Tem Guamá, and Carimbó with the Sancari group.
