Educational actions occur with the support of enforcement

Focusing on accident prevention during the school holiday period, the State Department of Traffic (Detran) carried out an educational action on the access roads to the district of Mosqueiro on the morning of this Saturday (4). The activities took place on PA-391 and near Praia do Chapéu Virado, one of the main tourist spots on the island.

One of the fronts of the action took place near the Integrated Command and Control Center (CICC), in the Citizen's Lane. At the site, Detran agents guided pedestrians and drivers on the correct use of crosswalks and the importance of heightened attention on shared roads, especially in areas with a high flow of people during the holidays.

Those passing by the highway recognized the importance of the action. Businessman Clayson Neri, approached during the activity, positively evaluated the initiative. “Without a doubt, this type of action is very important. Guidance in traffic is always necessary, whether for those driving cars or for us motorcyclists, who need to be even more attentive. These educational approaches make all the difference. I believe they should happen more frequently because the main goal is to preserve lives – especially those of people on motorcycles, who are more exposed in traffic,” he commented.

During the approaches, the traffic education teams also reinforced guidelines on the main risk factors, such as speeding, alcohol consumption while driving, the use of seat belts, and the proper transportation of children.

Detran traffic education agent Lucas Aguiar highlighted the main points of the action. “This is another educational action by Detran, carried out by the Education Coordination in partnership with enforcement. We are addressing drivers to provide basic guidelines for safer traffic, with a special focus on themes such as drinking and driving, respecting signage, speed limits, dangerous overtaking, and using cell phones while driving. These are the main messages we have been conveying both here on PA-391 and in Mosqueiro, Santa Bárbara, and other locations,” Aguiar explained.

On the district's roads, educational approaches guide safe behavior

In addition to road safety, the team also reinforced environmental guidelines, encouraging drivers not to litter on the roads and to adopt sustainable habits in traffic.

The actions are part of the Summer Operation 2025 schedule, which intensifies education and enforcement activities in various regions of the state. The actions will continue until July 15, with a constant presence of Detran teams on the main state highways leading to the Pará resorts. The proposal is to reinforce road safety and contribute to more conscious and responsible traffic during the holiday month.
