Police seize 130 kg of drugs and arrest two suspects in operation in Cachoeira do Arari
During the incursion in a forested area, two suspects were spotted acting suspiciously and attempted to flee upon noticing the police presence.

An operation by the Military Police of Pará (PMPA) resulted in the seizure of approximately 130 kilograms of a substance resembling cocaine and the arrest of two men for drug trafficking, on the morning of this Thursday (04), in the Vila de Camará, rural area of Cachoeira do Arari, in the Marajó region. The action was triggered after an anonymous tip about suspicious activity near the Balsa Port, an area of difficult access with a history of use as an illegal river route.
The PM used a vessel to strategically approach the location. During the incursion in a forested area, two suspects were spotted acting suspiciously and attempted to flee upon noticing the police presence. After a tactical pursuit, the men were apprehended.
During searches along the riverbanks, the team located a medium-sized vessel, weighing about four tons, partially covered by branches and tarpaulin. Inside the vessel were four plastic bags containing 100 blocks of narcotics, as well as diving equipment and tools used in the transport of the illegal material, such as fins, masks, regulators, walkie-talkies, and sonar GPS.

In light of the evidence, the suspects were arrested and taken, along with the seized material, to the Cachoeira do Arari Police Station, where they were charged with drug trafficking and criminal association.
“This action demonstrates the strategic operation of our units in combating drug trafficking. We always seek to protect the population and prevent crime from establishing itself in our communities,” emphasized Colonel PM Augusto César Guimarães, commander of CPR XI.
