Two arrested for qualified robbery against runners in Belém

The crime against a group of athletes who were running in the streets occurred in May of this year

The Civil Police, through the Division of Repression to Thefts and Robberies (DRFR), arrested, this Friday (04), two men investigated for qualified robbery.

The arrests occurred in compliance with preventive arrest warrants issued by the 1st Court of Police Inquiries of the District of Belém.

The suspects are being investigated for participating in a robbery against a group of athletes who were running in the streets of Belém on May 31 of this year. The victims were approached violently and had valuable belongings taken from them.

“Since the day of the crime, the team has been diligently following the case. The victims were aggressively surprised during a moment of leisure and sports practice. We managed to identify those involved and recover some of the stolen goods, such as a watch and a gold chain,” informed delegate Arthur Braga, head of the DRFR.

The suspects were located and taken to the police station, where they remain at the disposal of the Justice. The arrests aim to ensure public order and secure the continuity of investigations, given the seriousness of the facts and the dangerousness of those involved.
