Operation Summer 2025 intensifies security on the first weekend of July
More than 9,000 agents reinforce actions in the area of public safety in the busiest resorts during this school holiday season

To ensure a peaceful and safe leisure time for everyone who will enjoy the first weekend of July on the beaches and resorts of Pará, the State Public Security and Social Defense System (Sieds), in partnership with federal and municipal agencies, is intensifying prevention and security actions on the roads and in 50 locations in Pará, as part of Operation Summer 2025, coordinated by the Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense (Segup).

“We are intensifying the actions of Operation Summer, which started on June 28, knowing that the expectation is for an increase in the number of vacationers on the beaches and resorts starting this first weekend of July. Therefore, we have actions in all regions of Pará, and of course, with extra attention to destinations that have the highest concentration of people, in order to curb any criminal acts, maintain order and social peace for the families of Pará,” explained Ualame Machado, Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense.
Exit and entry of Belém
With the increase in traffic flow in and out of the capital of Pará, on this Friday (4), agents from the State Department of Transit (Detran), together with the Highway Police Battalion of PMPA, Municipal Guards, and municipal traffic agencies, along with the Federal Highway Police, are reinforcing actions to ensure greater safety for vehicle drivers and pedestrians on the roads, organizing traffic flow and curbing illegal activities in transit.

University student, Pedro Henrique Souza, will enjoy the weekend with his family in Salinópolis and decided to hit the road on the morning of this Friday to avoid traffic jams.
“We are going to enjoy the weekend in Salinas and we organized ourselves to leave Belém early, because usually most people travel at the end of the day and the traffic jam is greater. And for us who are going to enjoy leisure time with family and friends, it is very important to see that there is supervision from the exit of Belém, with agents guiding drivers so that everything can be peaceful and we can proceed safely to our destination,” said the student.
Among the actions that are already being carried out is the “Dry Law” which ensures supervision and guidance of traffic on the roads of the beaches and resorts, aiming to prevent traffic accidents and the driving of vehicles under the influence of alcohol.

The Military Fire Department and Civil Defense are also present on the beaches and resorts throughout the day with guidance on tide tables, pre-hospital care, and they also maintain rescue and salvage teams.

The Bases of the Integrated Command and Control Center installed at Atalaia Beach next to Sofia's shortcut and in Mosqueiro, at the end of Avenida 16 de Novembro with Avenida Beira Mar, operate 24 hours, with focal points from security agencies for real-time monitoring of security camera images and public assistance, if necessary.
