The Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat of Sports and Leisure (Seel), begins this Thursday (3) the fourth phase of the XIV edition of the Open Games of Pará (Joapa), Regional Rio Caeté. The opening ceremony will be at 7 PM, at the "Zeca Faustino" Sports Gym, located in Praça Luiz de Sousa Bentes, in the municipality of Salinópolis, northeastern Pará.

The Regional Rio Caeté continues until Sunday (6), bringing together 502 athletes from six municipalities - Bragança, Ourém, Primavera, Santarém Novo, São João de Pirabas, and Salinópolis. The competitors will compete in basketball, futsal, beach soccer, volleyball, and table tennis.

Joapa is the largest amateur sports competition in the State, encompassing all 144 municipalities in 10 regional stages, to strengthen sports as a factor of social inclusion.

“We are starting another stage of the Open Games of Pará, this time in Salinópolis, bringing together more than 500 athletes from six municipalities. I wish everyone an excellent participation and, above all, to have fun and enjoy Joapa,” said the head of Seel, Cássio Andrade.

Incentive - In addition to the sports competitions, the event promotes the Efficiency Trophy, awarded to the municipality that achieves the best performance in the regional and state stages. “It is a recognition of the effort and dedication of the athletes and teams, and an incentive for everyone to give their best throughout the competition,” added the secretary.

The official opening of the activities was at 4 PM, with the Technical Congress, conducted by the Technical Coordination of Seel, with the presence of the heads of delegation from the participating municipalities and the refereeing teams.
