State tax auditors from the State Department of Finance (Sefa), stationed at the Coordination of Goods in Transit Control in Itinga, Dom Eliseu, southeastern Pará, on the border with Maranhão, seized two new carbon steel tanks valued at R$ 492,897.10. The seizure occurred on Monday (30), and vehicles left Caxias do Sul (RS) heading to Tailândia (PA).

“During the analysis of the fiscal documents presented by the transporter, it was verified that the documentation presented simulated a return from a closed deposit, but the invoices for shipment and return were issued with only a 2h30min difference, a time incompatible with the journey between the states of Rio Grande do Sul and Pará. Furthermore, there was no record in the systems of the goods leaving the territory of Pará, to which the tanks were supposedly returning,” explained the coordinator of the tax unit in Itinga, Rafael Brasil.

In light of the irregularity, a Seizure and Deposit Term (TAD) was drawn up in the amount of R$ 82,806.71 referring to ICMS and fines.
