The Economic Development Company of Pará (Codec), linked to the State Government, participated this Monday (30) in the Webinar on Hungarian Solutions in Water Management, promoted by the Federation of Industries of the State of Pará (Fiepa), through its International Business Center (CIN), in partnership with the Embassy of Hungary in Brazil. Held entirely online, the event brought together representatives from the public, diplomatic, and business sectors to promote the exchange of experiences and strengthen international cooperation in strategic areas such as sanitation, water treatment, and circular economy.

Representing Codec, the Director of Investment Attraction and Business, Manoel Ibiapina, and the Foreign Trade Manager, Eduardo Rodrigues, participated in the program. Also attending the meeting were the Vice President of Fiepa, Clóvis Carneiro; the coordinator of CIN/Fiepa, Cassandra Lobato; the president of the Thematic Council on Environment and Sustainability of Fiepa, Derivk Martins; the Deputy Secretary of the Secretary of Economic Development, Mining and Energy (Sedeme), Carlos Ledo; the commercial attaché of the Embassy of Hungary, Kinga Somogyi; and the ambassador of Hungary in Brazil, Miklós Tamás Halmai.

During the meeting, Hungarian companies specialized in environmental solutions presented technologies aimed at water treatment, solid waste, and industrial sludge, focusing on reducing carbon footprint and promoting circular economy. Among the highlights were Aegea, Orgânica Water, Pureco, and Innowaste Global, which also expressed interest in projects for assembly plants and treatment systems aimed at sectors such as fertilizers and meatpacking. The companies seek partnerships with public and private entities to enable sanitation projects, waste management, and sustainable solutions in Pará.

The international agenda promoted by Fiepa is fully aligned with Codec's guidelines, which has as one of its strategic pillars the promotion of international partnerships and the attraction of foreign direct investments, especially in sectors essential to sustainable development. In this context, the strategic partnership between Codec and Fiepa stands out, which has contributed to positioning Pará on the radar of international investors, through the construction of a joint agenda for economic promotion and strengthening regional competitiveness.

The Company has been expanding its network of collaboration with foreign companies and institutions focused on innovation in sanitation, water monitoring, reuse technologies, and desalination. Although there are currently no formal agreements with Hungarian companies, the webinar opened doors for future technical negotiations, with potential applications in Pará regions facing challenges related to water access and waste management.

“Water management is a priority in the planning of new ventures in Pará. Knowing successful international experiences allows us to evaluate solutions applicable to our reality and reinforce the construction of a more sustainable and competitive business environment,” stated Director Manoel Ibiapina.

Codec's participation reinforces the commitment of the Government of Pará to sustainable development, innovation, and the construction of partnerships that generate social, environmental, and economic value for the State.
