Civil Police launches operation Safe Area in the Terra Firme neighborhood, in Belém
The initiative focused on a planned action aimed at reinforcing police presence and promoting safety for the population in general

The Civil Police launched another phase of the "Safe Area" operation, this time in the Terra Firme neighborhood, in Belém, on the night of this Thursday (26). The initiative focused on reducing crime, reinforcing police presence, and promoting safety for the population.
According to the PC, the operation was based on a prior mapping of the area of action, carried out in conjunction with local teams, to identify critical points in the neighborhood, places with a higher incidence of robberies, homicides, drug trafficking, or other criminal practices. The survey is based on reports, ongoing investigations, and recorded occurrences.

In total, 12 bars were inspected with the support of 15 vehicles and a contingent of 60 civil police officers who acted directly on the streets. During the action, one person was taken to the police station, where a Circumstantial Occurrence Term (TCO) was drawn up for drug consumption. The individual signed a Commitment Term to Appear in Court, agreeing to present themselves when summoned.
The action involved different fronts of the Civil Police. "The Safe Area Operation was strategically structured, aiming to identify and locate individuals with possible links to criminal organizations. The teams went to the points previously mapped during the investigations, strengthening the fight against crime and improving the monitoring of those involved," emphasized Delegate Daniel Castro, director of the Metropolitan Police.

The Directorate of Assistance to Vulnerable Groups (DAV) conducted incursions and approaches in bars, commercial establishments, and other social spaces, aiming to identify and curb possible situations of rights violations, especially against women, children, adolescents, the elderly, and people in situations of social vulnerability.
"We are committed to showing, in practice, how much the safety of the population is a priority for our institution. The joint work between the teams allows us to act quickly, strategically, and close to the reality of the people, facing the challenges of crime with responsibility and efficiency," emphasized the general delegate of PCPA, Raimundo Benassuly.

The Directorate of Administrative Police (DPA) was responsible for inspections related to the regularity of establishments, with an emphasis on verifying operating licenses and other legal requirements for conducting commercial activities, in support of public safety and urban order.
According to the deputy general delegate, Temer Kayat, the work goes beyond immediate repression. "It is a broad operation, also aimed at prevention. We collect information that will support future investigations and actions, always with the goal of ensuring more safety for the population," he highlighted.
