Forensic Police begins 'Operation Summer 2025' in 17 operational hubs in Pará
With a workforce of 106 employees, the agency will operate during the summer conducting forensics to issue reports that will assist in criminal cases at the main tourist spots in the state
The Forensic Police of Pará (PCEPA) joins, starting this Saturday (28), Operation Summer 2025, coordinated by the State Secretariat of Public Security and Social Defense (Segup). The action will continue until August 4 and aims to ensure the safety of residents during the holiday period, both in the main tourist destinations in the countryside and in urban centers.
The PCEPA will operate with a daily workforce of 106 employees, including criminal experts, forensic doctors, technical and operational assistants. The teams will be distributed between the headquarters in Belém, the Regional Coordinators (Castanhal, Marabá, Santarém, and Altamira), the Advanced Nuclei (Abaetetuba, Bragança, Paragominas, Parauapebas, Tucuruí, and Itaituba), and with reinforcement in strategic points such as Cametá, Conceição do Araguaia, Mosqueiro District, Marudá, Salinópolis, and Salvaterra.
A total of 32 vehicles will be used, with 19 operational and 13 designated for removal.
Integrated action
During the operation, the PCEPA plays a fundamental role in providing technical support to other security forces, such as the Civil and Military Police, Detran, and Artran. The institution will be responsible for issuing technical reports requested during the services, such as alcohol tests, drug use, bodily injuries, vehicle forensics, property forensics, noise pollution, ballistics, body removal, crime scenes, domestic violence, and sexual violence.
“Public security operations during the holidays require prompt forensic response. Our action ensures the production of technical evidence that supports police investigation and strengthens the Justice System,” highlighted criminal expert Ana Cláudia Melo Macedo, coordinator of the regional units of the PCEPA.
Combating noise pollution
One of the focuses of the operation will be combating noise pollution caused by sound walls or equipment with volume above the permitted level in beaches and public spaces. The Forensic Police works on the preparation of reports that support police inquiries, ensuring technical backing for legal actions.
According to criminal expert Carlos Alberto Oliveira Braga, manager of technological forensics at the Environmental Crimes Nucleus of the PCEPA, the teams operate discreetly to record occurrences. “If, after the initial approach by the Military or Civil Police, the responsible party reoffends, we are called. We go to the location without uniforms, collect the data, and prepare the technical report for the police authority,” he explained.
The expert also warned about the impacts of excessive noise, especially in a society increasingly surrounded by electronic devices. “Acoustic discomfort can generate stress and even illnesses, especially in the elderly, children, people with autism, and animals. Therefore, controlling noise pollution is essential for collective well-being,” he added.
The Forensic Police emphasizes that all regional units and advanced nuclei will continue to provide normal service during Operation Summer, offering full support to occurrences in the areas covered by the task force.
