Adepará highlights the end of the deadline for the 1st stage of vaccination against brucellosis in Pará
The Agricultural Defense Agency of Pará (Adepará) warns that vaccination is mandatory and only needs to be done once in the animal's lifetime

Next Monday, June 30, is the deadline for rural producers to vaccinate female cattle and buffalo aged 3 to 8 months against brucellosis, a disease that causes infertility and has a significant impact on livestock.
The Agricultural Defense Agency of Pará (Adepará) warns that vaccination is mandatory and is performed only once in the animal's lifetime.
According to the state agricultural inspector and veterinarian, Glaucio Galindo, manager of ruminants at Adepará, on the closing date of the 1st stage of vaccination against brucellosis, the deadline for rural producers to declare the number of animals that have been vaccinated will also end.

“The declaration must be made by presenting the Vaccination Certificate (original document) issued by a veterinarian registered in the State Program for the Control and Eradication of Brucellosis and Animal Tuberculosis (PECEBT) and the invoice for the purchase of the vaccine at the Adepará offices.”
The veterinarian explains that there are two vaccines that can be administered to heifers, the B19 and RB 51 vaccines. In RB51, there is a difference in the marking of the animals.
“In RB51, the marking is done with the letter V on the left side of the animal's face, while when the animal is vaccinated with the B19 vaccine, the marking made is the last digit of the year, in the case of 2025, it is the number 5,” advises the manager.

The National Program for the Control and Eradication of Brucellosis and Animal Tuberculosis (PNCEBT) establishes a vaccination rate of at least 80%. So far, the estimate from ADEPARÁ is that more than 47% of properties have already had vaccination recorded in the Agency's data system this semester in Pará.
Failure to vaccinate or failure to prove vaccination results in a blockage of the issuance of Animal Transit Guides, in addition to administrative penalties such as the issuance of fines.
