Polyclinic Lago de Tucuruí celebrates three years with over 1 million appointments

The unit offers dozens of services, such as medical and multiprofessional consultations, exams, hemodialysis, and specialized care for people with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

The Polyclinic Lago de Tucuruí, in southeastern Pará, celebrates three years of operation with the impressive mark of over 1 million appointments made. Between June 2022 and May 2025, there were 367 thousand medical and multiprofessional consultations, 569 thousand exams, 20 thousand hemodialysis sessions, and 72 thousand appointments aimed at people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Polyclinic is a reference in the Lago de Tucuruí Region

Throughout this period, the Polyclinic consolidated its performance in 36 medical specialties, standing out among the most sought after: Cardiology, Orthopedics, Otorhinolaryngology, and Endocrinology. In the area of exams and diagnosis, laboratory procedures, ultrasounds, and X-rays were the most performed, reinforcing the unit's commitment to providing quality and accessible services to the local population.

The unit of the Government of Pará, managed by the Institute of Social and Environmental Health of the Amazon (ISSAA), in partnership with the State Department of Public Health (Sespa), is a reference in the Lago de Tucuruí Integration Region, which includes the municipalities of Breu Branco, Goianésia do Pará, Itupiranga, Jacundá, Nova Ipixuna, and Novo Repartimento.

The State Secretary of Public Health, Ivete Gadelha Vaz, highlighted the strategic role of the Polyclinic in strengthening the regional assistance network. "The unit is a concrete demonstration of how expanding access to specialized care in the interior of the State can transform lives. In just three years, we have provided dignity, access, and efficiency to thousands of people who previously had to travel long distances to receive care," emphasized the head of Sespa.

Positive evaluation - The positive impact of the Polyclinic is also recognized by those who use its services daily. Janeide de Souza, 34 years old, a resident of Tucuruí, accompanies her daughter for specialized care for autism. "She is followed by a speech therapist, occupational therapist, and psychologist. All care is provided with attention, sensitivity, and professionalism. We trust the service and feel welcomed at each visit," she stated.

In the assessment of Maria Sales, 59 years old, also a resident of Tucuruí, "the structure is excellent. The equipment is modern, and the professionals are very attentive. Whenever I come, I am well received and attended to quickly. You can see that the service is done with responsibility and care."

Ruthlene Mendonça, 40 years old, a resident of Breu Branco, reinforced the importance of humanized care. "What impresses me the most is the way we are treated. The professionals listen to us patiently, explain everything clearly, and treat each person with dignity. This care during the service makes all the difference," she assured.

Maklin Tavares de Almeida, 31 years old, also from Tucuruí, emphasized the team's commitment. "I have had several exams done here, such as CT scans and MRIs, and I have always been well attended. The cleanliness of the Polyclinic stands out; everything is very organized. In addition, the service is quick, which shows how committed the team is to efficiency," said the user.

Natea Space: qualified care for people with Autism Spectrum Disorder

Modern structure - With a spacious and modern structure, the Polyclinic has 30 chairs for hemodialysis, outpatient offices, a room for minor procedures, and a wide range of exams. The unit also houses the Autism Spectrum Disorder Care Center (Natea), which offers multidisciplinary care for people with ASD.

For the executive director of the unit, Léia Sandim, the results achieved in these three years reflect the collective effort. "We have a dedicated team that works with responsibility and sensitivity to welcome each patient in the best possible way. The structure was designed to ensure resolution, comfort, and quality in care. We remain firm in our mission to care for people's health with dignity and efficiency," said the manager.

Service: The Polyclinic Lago de Tucuruí is located at Avenida Raimundo Veridiano Cardoso, No. 1008, Santa Mônica neighborhood, urban area of Tucuruí. The service is offered from Monday to Friday, from 7 am to 6 pm. The hemodialysis clinic also operates on Saturdays. All services are provided free of charge through the Unified Health System (SUS).
