Parque da Cidade opens its doors this Friday (27), with shows by Dona Onete, Pavulagem, Zaynara, and Vingadores do Brega
The space will be inaugurated with a cultural and sports program integrated into Brazil's 1st Public Summer Camp

The Parque da Cidade in Belém officially opens to the public this Friday (27), with shows by Dona Onete, Arraial do Pavulagem, Zaynara, and Vingadores do Brega. The performances mark the beginning of the Public Summer Camp, promoted by the Government of Pará through a joint action of the Departments of Sports and Leisure (Seel) and Culture (Secult). The program will run until July 31.

As the stage for the 30th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP 30), the Parque da Cidade will be handed over to the United Nations (UN) in August, to receive the final adjustments for the global event, which will take place in November. Until then, the public can enjoy the leisure spaces, sports practice, and community interaction.

On Friday, the gates will open at 3 PM, and the official program will start at 5 PM. Starting Saturday (28), the park will operate from 8 AM to 10 PM, with entry allowed until 9:30 PM. Access will be through two points on Avenida Júlio César and one at the junction with Avenida Senador Lemos.
The park offers complete infrastructure: an Olympic-standard skatepark, tennis courts, soccer fields, covered and outdoor multipurpose courts, sand courts, an open-air gym, ping-pong tables, playgrounds with climbing structures and water jets, an ecotrail, running and walking tracks, a bike path, swings for adults and children, as well as parking, restrooms, and hydration points.

“The Parque da Cidade is a space dreamed of and built together with the population, from its conception, and is already consolidating as one of the main legacies of COP 30. This urban intervention — the largest in Belém in the last hundred years — is a complete public facility that will change the cultural, tourist, and leisure landscape of the capital. Our invitation is for the population to enjoy, take care of, and feel proud of our Parque da Cidade,” says the Secretary of Culture of Pará, Ursula Vidal.

The Seel will be responsible for sports activities, with ten modalities aimed at different age groups, from children to the elderly. The Secult will coordinate the cultural program, which will take place on weekends, with shows, theatrical performances, storytelling, clowning, hip hop battles, and capoeira circles.
