In a coordinated effort to ensure safety and public order, the security forces of the State government and the municipality of Belém implemented a comprehensive scheme for the classic match between Remo and Paysandu this Saturday (21), valid for the 13th round of Series B. The actions ensured tranquility for more than 45,000 people present at the Estádio Olímpico do Pará Jornalista Edgar Proença, the Mangueirão.

Policing ensured tranquility inside and outside the Mangueirão

For the operation, 1,431 security agents were mobilized, with representatives from each force, organized in the Operational Control Center (CCCO), with access to images from about 800 cameras installed inside and around the stadium.

Partnership - The security scheme, to ensure tranquility, was developed by the State Secretariat for Public Security and Social Defense (Segup), in partnership with state and municipal agencies, in previous meetings. The acting head of Segup, Colonel PM Sérgio Neves, emphasized the monitoring of all actions within the CCO, with no record of serious incidents during and after the match.

Monitoring at the Command Center

“The operation demonstrated effective strategic planning and impeccable execution, ensuring tranquility, peace, and order for all fans present. The coordination among the different security forces was remarkable, resulting in a safe and pleasant environment for the sporting event. I thank the effort and dedication of each of those involved, who contributed to the success of this important initiative,” emphasized the acting secretary.

Located in the box sector, on the B side of the stadium, the Command Center concentrated and expedited security demands, seeking the best and most agile resolution. Monitoring began with the opening of access gates to the parking lot at 3:30 PM, followed by the scheduled opening of the stadium gates, and only concluded after the movement of the public leaving and around the stadium. There was also reinforcement in actions, with a security totem installed at the entrance of the parking lot, on the west side.

Structure - In addition to the Command Center, the units installed at the Mangueirão, such as the Event Police Battalion - responsible for maintaining public order during events held at the venue - are fully operational in coordinating the ostensive actions of the Military Police troops, as well as the Delegacy for the Protection of Fans and Major Events and the Specialized Delegacy for Women's Assistance (Deam), which are available to ensure service and agility in recording occurrences.

Only one occurrence was recorded at the Delegacy for the Protection of Fans for contempt and possession of prohibited material in the stands. According to a determination from the Public Security Council (Consep), provocative materials are prohibited in the stands. The case was recorded as a Circumstantial Occurrence Term (TCO).

According to the representative of the Delegacy for the Protection of Fans and Major Events, Delegate Lucas Machado, “we received here the reports generated during the match, recorded and finalized. No serious incidents.”

Even after the match ended, ostensive policing, supported by four and two-wheeled vehicles, and also by mounted troops, continued until 11 PM. All these precautions, said the commander of the Specialized Policing (CPE), Colonel Marcelo Menezes, were taken to maintain order.

“We operated inside the stadium, in the surrounding area, on foot, motorized, and on horseback. Once the match was over, this policing turned to the major corridors, to ensure the safe arrival of fans to their homes, visualizing this policing spread throughout the city,” informed the colonel.

Combating sexual harassment - Segup also carried out actions aimed at protecting women during the event. Teams from the Directorate of Public Policies and Social Prevention worked on disseminating the “Do Not Stay Silent” protocol and the reporting channels, such as the Virtual Women’s Police Station and the Women’s Service Totem. The educational approach to fans highlighted the importance of reporting and combating sexual harassment in public spaces.

The security scheme involved teams from Segup, through the Operational and Criminal Intelligence and Analysis sub-secretariats, Graesp (Aerial Grouping) and Ciop (Integrated Operations Center); Military and Civil Police; Detran (Department of Transit); Military Fire Brigade and Seap (State Secretariat of Penitentiary Administration), as well as other agencies, such as Seel (State Secretariat of Sports and Leisure), Public Defender's Office and Public Ministry, and also the Municipal Guard and Semob (Executive Superintendence of Urban Mobility of Belém).
