Integrated action of the Civil and Military Police resulted in the seizure of a weapon and ammunition in Igarapé-Miri; those investigated were arrested in the act

The Civil and Military Police of Pará, with the support of the Fluvial Group (GFLU), the Independent Fluvial Police Company (CIPFLU), and the Public Security Air Group (Graesp), launched Operation Esparavel II last Wednesday (18). The objective was to execute search and seizure warrants and locate firearms in the possession of suspects of illegal possession of firearms and criminal association.

The targets of the operation managed to flee moments before the teams arrived but were located after six hours of continuous searches in a forest area, in a residence at the end of the Ciretran road, in the municipality of Igarapé-Miri.
During the approach, a .380 caliber pistol and seven intact rounds of ammunition were seized from the suspects.
According to Delegate Mhoab Khayan, regional superintendent of the Civil Police of Baixo Tocantins, a police inquiry was initiated to deepen the investigations.
"We continue with the diligences to investigate the criminal activities of the group in the region," he emphasized.
The arrested individuals were charged in the act for the crimes of illegal possession of firearms and criminal association. After legal procedures, they were sent to the Abaetetuba prison, where they remain at the disposal of the Justice.
