The Civil Police of Pará, through the State Narcotics Division (Denarc), arrested two suspects in the act on Thursday (19) for transporting 200 bricks of cocaine hidden in a truck loaded with about 20 tons of corn.

Investigations indicated that the vehicle was heading south in the state, suspected of being used for drug transportation. After monitoring, the approach was made on the night of last Wednesday (18), in the Morada Nova district of Marabá.

During the inspection, the nervousness and inconsistent information presented by the driver and the passenger raised suspicions, and the truck was taken to the police unit for a more detailed inspection.

With the support of a sniffer dog, the agents located the bricks of cocaine hidden among the sacks of corn.

Delegate Davi Cordeiro, head of Denarc, emphasized that the seizure is the result of the continuous work of qualified investigation developed by the Civil Police in combating drug trafficking. "Our next step is to identify and locate the other members of the group, to completely dismantle this criminal organization," he stated.

The suspects were charged in the act for drug trafficking and association for trafficking. After legal procedures, they were sent to the prison system, where they remain at the disposal of Justice.
