The integrated work of inspection and combating river crimes carried out at the Integrated River Base "Antônio Lemos", in Breves, Marajó, resulted in the seizure of 3 kilograms of narcotics this Tuesday (17). The drug, of the skunk type, was hidden inside a television transported in the cargo compartment of a vessel coming from Manaus (AM), destined for Belém.

The seizure occurred during routine patrols on the Tajapuru River. With the support of fast boats and the sniffer dog "Anúbis", the agents inspected the ship "Anna Karoline VII", when the animal indicated the presence of suspicious material in the cargo area. Upon opening the box containing the television, three blocks of skunk were found.

The seizure procedure was formalized at the River Base and will be concluded at the Civil Police Station of Breves, where the case remains under investigation.

The director of the River Group, Colonel PM José Vilhena, highlighted the impact of the operation in combating drug trafficking in the region.

"This action demonstrates the ongoing commitment of our security forces in combating drug trafficking. I congratulate the agents involved, who have worked with courage and dedication to ensure a safer future for the population," he stated.

The Integrated River Base ‘Antônio Lemos’ is an important strategic point in combating environmental crimes and drug trafficking in the rivers of the Marajó region, reinforcing the presence of security forces in the Amazon region.
