The Pará Center for Hemotherapy and Hematology Foundation (Hemopa), in partnership with the Jean Bitar Regional Hospital (HJB), held a blood donation campaign on Wednesday (18) in the Umarizal neighborhood of Belém. The initiative is part of the June Red Campaign, a month dedicated to encouraging voluntary blood donation.

The event was supported by Hemopa's mobile unit and a collection room set up inside the hospital, ensuring comfort and safety for the volunteers. The partnership with HJB reinforces the public health network's commitment to promoting a culture of donation and expanding access to collection points throughout the city.

According to the social worker from the Donor Recruitment Management (GECAD), Camila Medina, the campaign is part of Hemopa's hospital recruitment project, conducted in partnership with institutions that receive blood bags from the Foundation. "This is a fundamental action for maintaining the stocks and serving patients in the SUS network. In 2025, this is already the second edition at Jean Bitar, and we hope to achieve good results," she emphasized.

For the biomedical Aline Pardauil, responsible for the Transfusion Agency of HJB, the mobilization is very important. "It is always gratifying to contribute to replenishing Hemopa's stocks. We are confident in the success of the campaign and want to motivate more and more people to participate in this gesture of unity and solidarity," she stated.

The mobilization aimed to engage staff, companions, and the surrounding community, highlighting the importance of keeping the stocks replenished, especially during periods of higher transfusion demand. The campaign is part of Hemopa's strategy to decentralize collections and bring the gesture of solidarity closer to the population, strengthening the state's network of blood centers.
