In Capanema, Natea dos Caetés promotes educational lectures for parents and guardians
The action of the Caregiver Attention Program (Proac) aims to strengthen the bond between the multidisciplinary team and families and caregivers
The management of the Autism Spectrum Disorder Care Center (Natea) of Caetés, in Capanema, has been promoting lectures, training, and informative actions through the Caregiver Attention Program (Proac). The goal is to strengthen the bond between the multidisciplinary team and families.
The approach, conducted by a clinical psychologist from the service, has provided a space for welcoming and exchanging experiences among parents, guardians, and professionals from the unit. About 300 family members participate in the dynamics, held in shifts, during therapy breaks, directly in the reception of Natea.
More than 100 caregivers/guardians participated in the orientation moment. The theme addressed with the group was the conceptualization "What is autism?" The proposal seeks to update participants with scientific grounding aimed at demystifying some assumptions and even prejudices about ASD. Also, this June, Proac began psychological support for the responsible caregiver on the 11th. The sessions are conducted by the clinical psychologist of Proac.
For the manager of Natea, Tassilene Gonçalves, the initiative reinforces the necessary care for families as well: "We believe that caring for those who care is essential. These approaches are valuable moments to guide, welcome, and listen to parents and guardians, strengthening the support network around our users."
Psychologist Alana Oliveira pointed out her satisfaction with the lectures. "These actions are fundamental both to promote relevant information about the care of users and to welcome these caregivers and guardians who also need to take care of their emotional well-being."
Resident of Capanema, Tatiane Nascimento Trindade, 38, is the mother of João Pedro Trindade, 12, who has been receiving care at Natea for almost two years. She highlights the importance of the Caregiver Attention Program (Proac) for parents and companions.
"This exchange of information between parents and professionals is important. Also, clearing doubts, being able to share information about our daily lives and receive guidance, I can only be grateful. João has had good development in the social aspect, thanks to every professional who contributed to this happening," said Tatiane Nascimento.
