Cultural Foundation of Pará promotes film discussion this Wednesday (18) in Belém
Admission is free and the meeting will reflect on Cinema and Anthropology at 6:30 PM

The House of Arts will host a new edition of its famous Film Discussion on June 18 at 6:30 PM, promoted by the Cultural Foundation of Pará (FCP), in partnership with the Center for Cinematographic Studies (CEC). This time, the meeting's theme is "Cinema and Anthropology" and aims to be a space for reflection and debate on the intersections between cinematic language and cultural and social studies.
Coordinated by film critic and professor of the Cinema course at UFPA, Marco Antônio Moreira, the discussion will bring together researchers, students, and the general public interested in exploring how cinema can engage with the human sciences. The activity will also feature a special participation from anthropology professor Camille Castelo Branco, who will bring transdisciplinary contributions to the debate.
Films related to the theme and three main axes will be addressed: cinema as an anthropological tool, cultural representation on screens, and cinema as an expression of cultural identity. The proposal is to promote dialogue between audiovisual media and anthropology, valuing cinema as a means of symbolic construction, cultural analysis, and social critique.
Admission is free, and all participants will receive certificates of participation. The initiative reinforces the role of cinema not only as a form of entertainment but as a powerful language for understanding and narrating human diversity.
