The Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat of Social Assistance, Labor, Employment and Income (Seaster), was in the Mosqueiro district in Belém this Saturday (14) to deliver the temporary benefit to 18 families whose homes were affected by a storm in May of this year.

After assessing immediate needs, welcoming and coordinating referrals with the State's social protection network, Seaster registered the residents to ensure the benefits were delivered.

"We remain committed to the population in situations of social vulnerability. And this assistance is a way to ensure that these families affected in an emergency have adequate support to restart their lives. Our role is to stand by these people and thus provide the necessary conditions for everyone to overcome difficulties," emphasized Inocencio Gasparim, head of Seaster.

Benefit

When activated during the incident, Seaster coordinates and guides the formulation of a social report issued by Funpapa (Papa João XXIII Foundation) detailing information related to those affected. After the issuance of this report, the Secretariat initiates the process of granting the temporary benefit.

The temporary benefit is paid for a period of three months, in the amount of a minimum wage, and aims to support families facing temporary difficulties.

In 2024, the Government of Pará, through Seaster, allocated more than R$ 238 thousand in benefits to families affected by disasters in the State, of which more than R$ 74 thousand were allocated solely to beneficiaries residing in the capital of Pará.
