Caetés Hospital Complex joins the 'Forrozão da Doação' in 'Red June'
World Blood Donor Day, celebrated this Saturday, 14, had the collaboration of 50 volunteers who reinforced the blood stocks in the region

The management of the Caetés Hospital Complex (CHC), in Capanema, northeastern Pará, joins another June blood donation campaign promoted by the Hemotherapy and Hematology Center Foundation (Hemopa), which this year has the theme "Forrozão da Doação", part of the national programming of "Red June", and this Saturday, 14, celebrates World Blood Donor Day.

On the 12th and 13th of this month, the partnership with the Capanema Hemocenter (Henca) saw the participation of approximately 50 collaborators from CHC, which includes the Public Regional Hospital (HRPC), Polyclinic, and the Autism Spectrum Care Center of Caetés (Natea), contributing to the maintenance of the blood stock at the collection unit in the municipality, benefiting patients hospitalized in the public hospital network of the region. The mobilization to raise awareness among CHC collaborators was led by the Humanization Working Group (GTH).
The initiative included a “Solidarity Caravan,” which took the volunteers to Hemopa Capanema for blood donation. The action reinforces the institutional commitment to solidarity, care for others, and the promotion of public health.
“Our mission is precisely to promote actions that strengthen human and solidarity values both inside and outside the hospital. Blood donation is a gesture of empathy and love for others. Seeing our collaborators unite for this cause was extremely gratifying and immensely rewarding and does good for the heart,” said Vanessa Blante, president of GTH.

Solidarity - Participating for the second time in the blood donation campaign, collaborator Adrienne Brandão da Silva, a biomedical professional working in the CHC Laboratory, highlighted her satisfaction in saving lives with this simple and noble gesture of blood donation. “It was gratifying to contribute and make a difference in someone’s life through my blood donation. I found it a very important and necessary initiative, as it only reinforces the commitment of the Regional Hospital of Caetés to encourage and promote health and solidarity, even among the local population,” emphasized the donor.
Among the patients benefited by the blood donations is Manoel Erli da Silva Luz, 37 years old, a resident of Cachoeira do Piriá, about 75km from Capanema, a renal patient who received a transfusion during his treatment at HRPC. “We can’t even imagine how much a donation can save a life until we need it. I am very grateful to those who took some time to donate blood that saves lives. Grateful for the volunteers of the campaign and the attention of everyone here at the unit.”

For the social worker at Hemopa Capanema, Luiza Helena Santana, the partnerships established with health institutions, companies, and educational institutions make a difference in the stock, especially during strategic campaign moments.
“The Regional Hospital of Caetés is one of those partners that regularly collaborates in maintaining this stock. It is a fundamental partnership, as it is a regional hospital that receives patients from all over the region and even from other states. We can only thank the awareness of the entire Hospital team, who participated in the Red June campaign, donated blood, brought more donors, and multiplied this cause for life,” highlighted the professional, emphasizing that Hemopa Capanema serves 16 municipalities in the Caeté region. There are nine hospitals, with over 400 transfusions attended monthly.
Data - According to data from the Ministry of Health (MS) in Brazil, about 1.6% of the Brazilian population is blood donors. However, this percentage still needs to improve to meet the World Health Organization (WHO) goal of having 3% of the population as donors. The Ministry of Health (MS) is responsible for coordinating policies and campaigns related to blood donation in the country.

Service - The Caetés Hospital Complex (CHC) is part of the health network of the Government of Pará and serves users 100% through the Unified Health System (SUS). It is located on Avenida Barão de Capanema, in the Centro neighborhood, in the municipal seat of Capanema. More information can be obtained by phone: (91) 3122-7391.
