The Açaí Pará Festival, organized by the Secretary of Agricultural Development and Fisheries (Sedap), features the participation of state secretariats and public agencies that present their actions and services aimed at promoting the fruit and caring for the consumer. Among them is the Amazon Foundation for Support of Studies and Research (Fapespa), which plays an important role in research and development of the açaí production chain in Pará.

The State Secretary for Women (Semu) also has a booth where a group of employees showcases handcrafted works made by entrepreneurial women. The space serves as a great showcase for local artisans and encourages income generation among the female audience. The booth was well visited on the first day of the event, on Friday (13).

Indicators - According to the president of Fapespa, Marcel Botelho, the festival is an important moment for the State Government to present all aspects of the production chain of Pará and the Amazon. Fapespa, as he explained, presents studies that have important indicators for decision-making by public administration and also by the private sector.

“Our role is to promote research, and here we have bio-packaging made from research funded by the State Government, in this case, Fapespa, as well as its studies, socioeconomic and environmental assessments of how açaí production is in Pará. So it is the moment for us to showcase all the delicious products, but also the technological ones,” he said.

At the Fapespa booth, similar to others from the State Government, it is possible to find materials such as studies presented by the statistics and environmental departments of the Foundation, and the team promoting projects and research. The employees are available to answer the public's questions about the work the institution develops regarding the açaí supply chain.

Promotion - The governor Helder Barbalho participated in the opening ceremony of the Açaí Pará Festival on Friday (13) and highlighted the importance of the gathering of public agencies to bring to the public the services that the government offers for the development of the açaí supply chain.

“It is a fair to promote education, qualification, guidance, and certification for those who work in the activity. That is why the Secretary of Agricultural Development and Fisheries, Sedap, the Bank of the State of Pará (Banpará), and Credicidadão are here to provide guidance, as well as other institutions,” said the head of the state executive.

The Procon is also participating in the festival, providing guidance and answering consumer questions. The State Secretary of Public Health (Sespa), with the support of açaí producers' qualification, is also present and brings services to consumers and açaí beaters.

The booth of the State Secretary for Women (Semu) is one of the most visited by the public, especially the female audience.

The State University of Pará (UEPA) also has a booth at the festival showcasing scientific research, presenting products developed by students and professors, training açaí beaters, and promoting innovative technologies for the sector. The Esperança Factory is another institution participating in the program, presenting works that use açaí seeds to transform them into charcoal.

The director of fairs and markets, Manoel Rendeiro, who coordinates the festival, stated that it is important to have the participation of public agencies that work within their spheres for the improvement and qualification of açaí or in income generation. On the first day of the event, Rendeiro visited the spaces of state agencies to thank them for their participation and service to the public.
