First day of competitions of the Regional Rio Capim features podium in table tennis

Athlete from Paragominas shone in the competition, winning the gold medal and securing a spot in the state phase in Belém

The XIV edition of the Open Games of Pará (Joapa) started with excitement and medals this Friday (13), in the host city of Mãe do Rio, for the Regional Rio Capim. On the first day of competitions, in the table tennis category, we had medals in the women's category.

The athlete from Paragominas, Jeyce Albuquerque, shone in the competition, winning the gold medal and securing her presence in the state phase in Belém. The Regional continues until June 15, organized by the Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat of Sports and Leisure (Seel).

The Seel secretary, Cássio Andrade, highlighted the participation of the delegations right on the first day. “We are happy to hold this great event of amateur sports here in the municipality of Mãe do Rio. And today we had the first podium in the women's table tennis category. I want to congratulate everyone participating in this moment of integration and promotion of Pará sports,” said the Seel secretary.

Participating municipalities - Ten municipalities are represented in this stage: Aurora do Pará, Bujaru, Capitão Poço, Concórdia do Pará, Ipixuna do Pará, Irituia, Mãe do Rio, Paragominas, São Miguel do Guamá, and Tomé-Açu. The competitions involve the modalities of basketball, futsal, beach soccer, volleyball, handball, and table tennis.

Joapa values sports and promotes inclusion

The Joapa encompasses all 144 municipalities in Pará, divided into ten regional stages. The goal is to promote sports and foster social inclusion through sports practice. In addition to medals, the competition also awards municipalities with the best performance with the Efficiency Trophy.
