The state enhances infrastructure, provides agents with new advanced technologies, and increases police presence for security and social peace for the population
The Government of Pará, through the State Public Security System, strengthened investments in public security in the first five months of 2025, consolidating the expansion and modernization of public security agencies. The initiative is part of the current administration's commitment to ensuring the security and social peace of the people of Pará, therefore all investments aim to enhance infrastructure, equip agents with advanced technologies, and increase police presence, resulting in greater security for the population.
From January to May 2025, over R$ 60 million were invested in public security equipment in Pará. New structures, weapons, vehicles, boats, ballistic vests, security totems, a women's service totem, and equipment for forensics were delivered, further improving the infrastructure and actions of public security agencies.
“We understand that investing in public security is not an expense, but rather a strategy that assists agents in protecting lives, preserving, and guaranteeing the rights of the population. When actions are well planned, the investments made significantly contribute to having a safer Pará and social peace. Therefore, this is what the Government, through the Security System, has been doing since the beginning of the current administration, working very hard on investments, integrating forces, and strengthening intelligence agencies,” stated the acting Secretary of Public Security, Colonel PM Sérgio Neves.

The Military and Civil Police also received weapons: 2,800 tasers, 400 submachine guns, and 20 rifles. Equipment was also delivered to ensure the protection of agents, totaling 2,000 ballistic vests to the Civil Police. Additionally, 13 ballistic vests were provided for the municipal traffic agencies of Jacareacanga and Mojuí dos Campos, under the State Policy of Support for Municipal Agencies.

Application of new technologies - The state also delivered the 1st Women's Service Totem, installed in the new Women's Hospital, as a new assistance tool, such as in cases of reporting occurrences with a direct link to the Virtual Women's Service Police Station, as well as with a chatbot, where the victim can contact the virtual attendant for clarifications, and also a telephone center for direct access to the attendant of the new channel 197.
In addition, the service order was signed for the installation of 50 new public security totems, which reinforce monitoring in the streets and allow, upon pressing the emergency button, direct contact with the Integrated Operations Center to report an occurrence in case of urgency. The municipalities of Marituba and Bragança have already officially received the new equipment, and another 48 are in the installation process, in order to be delivered to the population soon.
River Security - Recognizing the importance of security actions in the Pará river network, the Government of Pará restructured the Public Security River Group (GFLu), located in Belém, and also delivered a 60 HP boat for actions in the river areas of Melgaço, in Marajó. The focus is on strengthening policing in riverside regions and combating illegal activities in the rivers.
All investments demonstrate the commitment of the Government of Pará to public security, seeking not only to equip security forces but also to provide a safer environment for police officers and for serving citizens. The continuity of these actions is essential to maintain the reduction of crime rates and promote social peace in Pará.
