Project focused on circular economy and innovation is presented with interest in the Industrial District of Marabá
Industrial project with interest in the Marabá District foresees the valorization of steelmaking waste and the production of strategic inputs for agriculture and electric mobility.

The Economic Development Company of Pará (Codec) received, this Friday (13), the presentation of a new industrial project interested in establishing itself in the Industrial District of Marabá, in the southeast of the State. The proposal is structured in two phases and focuses on the valorization of steel co-products, mineral integration, and the development of critical materials for the energy transition and the green economy.
In the first phase, the installation of a unit aimed at advanced recycling of waste from the steel industry is planned, with an emphasis on the production of self-reducing briquettes and the reuse of materials with metallic content, such as electric arc furnace dust.
The second phase includes the production of manganese sulfate, with two purposes: use in the agricultural and animal nutrition sectors and the production of a high-purity version of the compound, essential for the manufacture of electric vehicle batteries.
During the meeting, Codec guided the project representatives on the next steps for the feasibility of the initiative, including technical analysis, institutional articulation, environmental licensing processes, and access to tax incentives offered by the State Government.

The Director of Investment Attraction at Codec, Manoel Ibiapina, highlighted the strategic importance of the project for the development of the region.
“The proposed project demonstrates a high level of innovation and commitment to sustainability and the utilization of industrial waste. The choice of Marabá, in the southeast of the state, highlights the District's potential to attract structuring investments. Codec will continue to provide all necessary support to make the project feasible and ensure job creation, income, and local value,” he stated.
The initiative reinforces the positioning of the Industrial District of Marabá as a strategic hub for innovative enterprises, aligned with the guidelines of the Government of Pará for sustainable industrialization and the strengthening of the new economy in the State.
