Military Police reinforces security inside and outside Mangueirão during Parárraiá 2025
More than 5,000 agents, vehicles, cavalry, and support from partner agencies ensure tranquility at the largest São João in the Amazon

The Military Police of Pará (PMPA) is operating with a strong security scheme at the Olympic Stadium of Pará (Mangueirão) in Belém during the Pararraiá 2025, which takes place from June 12 to 15. With an expected audience of around 400,000 people over the four days, the event has a special planning for visible policing.
The actions began on Thursday (12) and will continue until the end of the event on Sunday (15). The patrolling covers the entire internal and external area of the stadium, with a special focus on strategic roads such as Augusto Montenegro, Independência, and Mangueirão avenues. In these areas, the policing is preventive, aiming to prevent thefts, robberies, and other property crimes.

More than 5,280 military police officers are participating in the operation, supported by 1,271 vehicles, 148 motorcycles, and 48 horses, used by the traditional Mounted Police Regiment (RPMont). The scheme aims to ensure public order, protection of public and private property, traffic control, and immediate response to incidents.
In addition to the Military Police, the operation has support from various agencies, such as the Security Secretariat of Belém (SEGBEL), the Economic Development Secretariat (SEDCON), the Department of Traffic of Pará (Detran-PA), and the Municipal Guard of Belém (GMB). The actions for organizing the space and managing street vendors began on the 10th as part of the preparation.
“The PM has a strong presence inside and outside Mangueirão to ensure the tranquility of the population. We operate with vehicles, motorcycles, and mounted troops, reinforcing security so that everyone can enjoy the event peacefully,” highlighted Colonel Ariel Sampaio, head of the General Staff of PMPA.

The Mounted Police Regiment (RPMont), one of the most traditional units of the corporation, is present with 12 horses per day, totaling 48 horses throughout the operation. With strategic action at large events, the cavalry enhances security and commands respect, in addition to providing greater mobility to the agents.
“The presence of the Cavalry commands respect and allows for great mobility. The mounted police reinforce the policing around Pararraiá, increasing the sense of security for those attending the event,” emphasized an officer of the corporation.
Coverage Areas - The policing also covers bus stops and the main access roads to Mangueirão, such as Almirante Barroso, Centenário, Independência, Transcoqueiro Highway, and the Panorama XXI Complex. The stadium's Ring Road also has intensive RPMont presence, ensuring traffic flow and safety for the public throughout the event.
